Literally just drove from Pasadena to Anaheim and you’d have no clue that any of this is happening. And I was in that tiny square for 3 hours today before the LAPD lost its mind and started trapping people in for standing on sidewalks. LA is absolutely not burning. Tell your Midwestern family.
All the people I still know in LA laugh and laugh when they hear that "Los Angeles is burning." I made a couple of maps to show just how tiny and localized the protests are. GOPers are working really hard to make an excuse for declaring martial law. People should be very wary of that.

Today should have been Terry Higgins’ 80th birthday - a grand but not exceptional age.
Terry was a gay activist and worked as a barman/DJ in London’s Heaven nightclub.
But Terry did not live into old age. Like many gay men of his generation he was struck down by AIDS.
He died in 1982, aged just 37.

I am *begging* people to look up the actual history of the Luddite movement with it being bandied about everywhere.
They weren't anti-tech, they were anti-exploitation, anti-Industrialist, pro-worker safety textile worker radicals who disabled factory machines that were maiming and killing workers.

Sorry but if you're skipping over huge parts of a book (prologue, epilogue, ENTIRE POVS????) then I don't think you get to say you've read that book. I wrote the words in my book for a reason, they weren't just there to pad out the page count.
