When the answer to that simple demand was "All lives matter!" instead of "of course Black lives matter, let's make it so," we were cooked.
At the end of the day, the Black Lives Matter era was about whether people should be killed in the street, and lots of people decided yeah and put those little blue flags on their cars. It spread to everyone because it stopped for no one.

💯. People can live under intolerable circumstances for centuries. Life is not a movie. It promises no resolution.

Every moment of justice won requires tireless effort, and every win requires vigilance and defense for eternity. Look at the backsliding on rights we were assured wwre settled law.

Everyone protesting in Minnesota has been risking being murdered.

The rest of us Americans can make some fucking phone calls.

That goes for those with Repub senators as well as those of us with Dem senators. All of them.
We are calling our senators right now and demanding that they vote no on the omnibus with DHS funding

We are explicitly mentioning ICE’s murder in cold blood of a man on the streets of Minneapolis this morning

Friend and comrade, I hate to tell you my own family history, let alone that of millions... for my people, it was 99 long years from the Emancipation Proclamation to the Civil Rights Act.

Entire generations lived and died.

(I pray that the fire this time is kinder. I do pray.)
i do not know how this goes on for three more years

You are not describing a "clash" you are describing one heavily armed group of people attacking an unarmed group of people
Live on MS NOW:

Protesters are clashing right now with federal agents on the streets of Minneapolis. Agents are shooting tear gas. Agents have their weapons raised.

Protesters are chanting, "SHAME! SHAME!"

Once again: Focusing on their lack of training is a mistake. With "better training," their violence would simply cost more, and they would still kill whoever they wanted, but make it look more professional — to make people more comfortable, the way many of you are at ease with local police violence.

Many thanks to everyone who’s shopped at our website this month and/or boosted our titles! It‘s a HUGE help! Our publisher has been away from full time gainful employment for several months now so more sales = a better outlook for us, our staff, our authors, etc.

I may at this point just be categorically incapable of writing short threads.

But if you want one on correlative awareness of impacts and harms, and how genAI is an inherently extractive digital-era colonialist project, pull up a chair.
Also AI-related, lack of correlative awareness:

Was watching a really interesting off the cuff take (not sharing, I'll get to why) from a South Sudanese filmmaker about Avatar (series but key in Fire and Ash) using w/o attribution South Sudanese body type, skin tone, clothing, cultural ritual. 1/?

Great quick take from Dr. Rachel Barr on why AI detection tools aren't great at detecting AI (same tools as genAI, not qualitative), and one of the emerging best predictors is mismatch between thinness of concept and writing quality. 1/?

Please boost this and Skyla's premade cover store. It was an attempt to help her out with groceries and rent money, as premade covers are easier for her to handle workload wise (as opposed to taking new clients).

And the boys (who weren't born yet or were about *three*) who missed the *original* He-Man room, run by the fabulous Art Nadel, would have been HORRIFIED by how female-friendly/feminist the original writing team was. (I should know. My office was down the hall. I drew the first map of Eternia.) 😏
all the dudes bitching about "woke He-Man" should watch the woke He-Man we already got like three year ago, aka the animated Kevin Smith Netflix one about A) the crushing emotional toll that toxic masculinity takes on Adam and B) a squadron of absolutely jacked ladies dominating the whole plot

I've talked to people on the ground about the strike here tomorrow, and the single thing everyone brings up is just how shockingly wide the support for the strike is. Businesses that no one would have expected to support it are doing so.
National media should really be covering the fact thay every major school, museum, and arts institution in the Twin Cities, and hundreds of local businesses are closed tomorrow to protest federal occupation.

Nothing like this at this scale has happened anywhere in America anytime in living memory.
