The reaction to the Panorama edit has been nothing short of hysterical. Yes the BBC has some impartiality problems. But its biggest isn't the one you think.

Honestly, the mainstream media reaction to Zack Polanski entering the elites’ own conversation space…

…with widely-held public opinions…

…tells you everything you need to know about why our mainstream media is a closed shop, broken, and no longer fit for purpose.

@octopus.energy I switched supplier on 1/10/25. You sent a final gas bill on 4/10 & electricity bill on 5/10 some 10 working days ago. Yet I am still waiting a refund of over £800. This is in breach of Ofgen’s Guaranteed Standards of Performance. Please confirm when I will be refunded.

Dear people of the U.K. (ostensibly England and Wales)

Until you realise this country is fucked because of 14 years of terrible mismanagement in every way by the Tories….

You will end up with Reform U.K. Ltd (Tories on crack) running this country.

And you think it’s bad now?!

We should carry that sentence in our heads whenever we feel weary or overwhelmed or encounter the disillusioned, the apathetic..."Fascism doesn't need your support, just your silence."
Sometimes we need a moment, but if you tune out completely, they win. Fascism doesn’t need your support, just your silence.

Dad’s books are full of empathy, common sense, and a healthy suspicion of the powerful. But at its heart his work is also about how systems keep people poor while pretending it’s their own fault. So I hope Kemi’s taking notes as well as reading the jokes.

This is chilling…… Gerald Knaus discusses this rise of the far right…(abv version)
“Putin tries to destroy the infrastructure ..because he knows (it will) create refugee crisis in Aleppo, now in Ukraine. They come to Germany, Austria, and then our (Russia’s far right) friends benefit politically”

And the UK appears very keen to follow your lead.

🤡 Brexit vote in 2016.
🤡 Brexit is then a barrelling moronathon that we resolutely ignore.
🤡 And now - even though their big idea is a total shitshow - the brexity British MAGA party leads in the polls.

Can’t teach that slavish devotion to failure.
It’s so depressing watching the dumbest people in America drive this country into a ditch …. Again

The truth: we need migration.

The problem: too many politicians are terrified to say it.

Why? They're led by a) toxicity of the charlatans & b) wealthy media organisations who demand these useful distractions rather than us talking about inequality.

Reject it. Draw the line.

Before you shrug and say “Oh. PPE again. Old news”

Remember 1/ that cost lives due to reduced - or no- protection 2/ All those £billions could have been spent on crumbling NHS and school infrastructure

Instead it went into Tory crony pockets

Proud to contribute frontline testimony to tonight's enraging @itvx.com documentary "The Covid Contracts: Follow the Money".

Boris Johnson's govt squandered £8.7 billion on unusable PPE, while grifters like Michelle Mone made millions.

I know blaming the advisor is usually a distraction from problems at the top but since sacking a PM who won a huge majority 14 months ago is probably mad, and since they're not going to do it anyway, I really think they should sack the demonstrably useless advisor.

It feels deeply unfair, but at the same time, we want government to be free from the taint of corruption, so it's the right course.

I do, however, feel very sorry for Rayner.

NOW let's watch the press hold other politicians to these standards.
NEW: Here is the full verdict from the PM’s ethics advisor.

- Rayner acted with “integrity”, but..

- She did not seek *expert* tax advice

- As such she must take responsibility for failing to pay enough stamp duty

- She therefore fell short of standards and broke ministerial code

Everyone, including the BBC, really needs to do better. This is not a game. The hatred is brewing. We’re on the cusp of civil unrest as a result of disinformation. People’s safety and potentially lives are at stake.
Seems the BBC significantly exaggerated the Home Office case here, both in their wording on Twitter and on the broadcast itself. Home Office lawyers did *not* say this, which would be politically toxic, and play right into the hands of you know who. >

Why, you might ask, do the BBC and Sky News, casting their editorial guidelines to the wind, keep giving massive airtime to the far right, while shutting out leftwing voices? Don't their bosses understand the likely consequences?
Only one explanation now remains.
They do.
And it is what they want.
