Guy who inadvertently released several hundred crickets in his house and then recaptured some of them: "Caught at least 200 crickets in the kitchen. Nobody has ever heard of it. Gotta be a record."
Trump on the markets: "Up 2500 points. Nobody has ever heard of it. Gotta be a record."

. . . they could've been doing this the WHOLE TIME?????
BREAKING: I'm placing a hold on President Trump's nominee for U.S. Attorney in DC.

For the past few weeks, Ed Martin has been a one-man wrecking ball. Threatening political opponents, firing public servants, and using his office to chill free speech.

His nomination must be blocked.

one thing that's interesting about this moment compared to say the collapse of Tzarism or Imperial Germany is that the idiots in charge then had zero real skills or talents, whereas our idiot rulers each had exactly one skill that allowed them to maneuver into power
Really and truly, if I could communicate anything about history it's that genuine dumbasses can be key historical agents, and that has pretty massive implications for how we make sense of the past and present both.

Every time I see these stories I don’t only think about how much effort it is to defend every single program, I think how much it must infuriate the people who thought they could just sweep everything away to keep getting told no. Tiny wins are still wins

ok so what gets called "gender ideology" is jsut like "be who and how you want" and what gets called "not ideology" is like "follow these specific unwritten rules and perform these forbidden rituals according to the circumstances of your birth"

I'm sure very few people know about this. Inmates in 43 states are charged a per diem cost for "room and board" ranging between $40 to hundreds of dollars. In some states you owe for every day of your original sentence EVEN IF YOU GET OUT EARLY.

social media needs to be regulated and treated very much like we currently treat drugs.

that's long term. in the immediate term? focus on the 75% of men who aren't voting for fascists. you will have more luck reaching and organizing them than deradicalizing Andrew Tate fans.
The far-right radicalization of young men (and almost exclusively young men) is a global phenomenon, and no one has any good idea of what to do about it.

crazy how stellar reporting can be good for business

should be fine, we're probably done with tsunamis
The U.S. has two tsunami warning centers, both operated by NOAA. Employees were terminated from these centers today. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center covers Hawaiʻi, and now it is less safe to be near the beach.

The more actually qualified people get fired due to "DEI" the more we should point out Vance, however unqualified to be VP, also benefitted from it. It bypasses cishet white dude imposter syndrome.
JD Vance is a DEI beneficiary and we should stress this whenever possible especially since people are starting to learn what DEI actually is.

This has got to be one of the most ideologically baffling stickers I’ve ever seen. Like, do you get that Roman Cops are who put Jesus on the cross? Were you whooping and hollering and yelling “Get his ass, Pontius Pilate!” when you got to that part of the story?

People like Vance should never be allowed a peaceful moment in public again. They traded that in.
Wow: JD Vance is apparently skiing in Vermont this weekend and the locals aren’t having it. Thousands have lined the streets in protest.

Anyway, this is about as gross and anti-social a statement from an antivaxxer as you'll find, but also probably pretty par for the course

the movies suffer terribly when there is a lack of weird looking dudes to play major roles. Clarence Boeddicker was a good 30% of why Robocop was so memorable and he sold that character by looking and feeling like some freak who knifes you behind a bar for the $12 in your pocket

Democrats think everything is an episode of the West Wing. They think they’ll all dress the same at the speech and someone will say “no Mr Trump sir you stop” and Trump will melt down and repent right there, as if Aaron Sorkin scripted it all. Such nonsense.
