New results from the lab!!!
Our recent study analyzes the archaeal SRP system, focusing on the FtsY protein's N-terminal domain. This work highlights the key role of the A domain and N-terminal alpha helices in generating the functional TC in archaea.

Unravelling the role of the A domain and N-terminal alpha-helices of FtsY in archaeal signal recognition particle
Signal recognition particle (SRP) system is critical for protein translocation across membranes in all domains of life. In archaea, this pathway relie…

The archaeon Sulfolobus acidocaldarius has four different surface filaments. Each of them plays its special role in motility, adhesion, biofilm formation and mating. Our latest cryoEM foray into three of these unique structures is now published: www.nature.com/articles/s41...

What is the role of MinD proteins in Archaea? They are not involved in positioning of the cell division proteins, but might rather position the archaellum machinery at the poles and interact with cytosceletal proteins. New paper alert coming!

Where are my bacterial (and archaea!) #RNAsky peeps? Mark your calendars for Sept 1-4 next year for the Microbial RNA meeting in Strasbourg. It’s my absolute favorite conference, so an ideal place to be an invited speaker for the first time :) Hope to see lots of folks there! microbialrnameeting.com
