Sitäkin voisi myös pohtia, miten lehdistö on onnistunut "vallan vahtikoiran" tehtävässään. Onko jotain oleellista jäänyt kysymättä ja onko lehdistöltä löytynyt riittävää kriittisyyttä valtaapitäviä kohtaan? Onko vaihtoehtoja pohdittu avoimin mielin ja asiantuntijoita kuultu riittävän laajasti?

Tämä "keskushermoston herkistyminen" liittyen me/cfs:ään ja long covidiin on hypoteesi, joka ei juuri ole saanut tukea. Löytyy jotain epämääräisiä korrelaatiota aiempiin mielenterveysongelmiin yms.

Näin opetetaan lääkäreitä kaasuvalottamaan potilaita sairauksista, joiden biologisista mekanismeista on runsaasti näyttöä. Ja "biopsykososiaalisuudesta" (tarkoittaa toiminnallista häiriötä eli psykosomaattista oireilua) taas ei ole mitään uskottavaa tutkimusta.
