Pride is a celebration. Pride is also a powerful statement about courage, community, and determination.

We honor the trailblazers who came before us, join arms with those leading the fight for equality today, and empower the next generation to live boldly, freely, and with joy.

He’s an LA native, American citizen and labor leader.

"The US economy of 2021-2024 was historically bad and shitty" was a huge coordinated right-wing propaganda campaign. Propaganda works. Many who shouldve known better helped the campaign instead of fighting against it
What is behind this gap? It’s the information economy, not the real economy:
Media use, talking partners, & partisanship. This is what drives public opinion on inflation, recession, & the direction of the economy. Personal financial situation matters, too, but these things matter just as much, if not more.

So... the late Pope chose representatives from marginalized communities and identities as examples of the pope's mission.

If this happened in the US, it would be called "DEI" and condemned.
The final honor guard for Pope Francis included migrants, prisoners, transgender people, the homeless and others selected by the Vicariate of Rome as a symbol of the late pope’s mission of inclusion and outreach.

"we are going to ship out a million americans to a prison located in another country" is not just a sign that the us constitutional order could completely fall apart. it's also a sign that the alternatives right now are the constitution or mass extermination of trump's enemies
The fact that the administration is, *at the same time,* announcing an intention to include US citizens in the shipments to El Salvador makes it all the more plain and open— but the rule they're embracing in the Abrego Garcia case already includes citizens by implication.

two people in the last several minutes complained that a protest isn't worth what a general strike would be.

Remarked that one of the speakers at the protest I was at is an Amazon union organizer and talked about a general strike.

Hundreds of international students have just received an email telling them their visas have been revoked.

The ‘justification’ is campus activism or social media posts.

There have already been reports of fake ICE agents approaching students in Los Angeles. It seems like just a matter of time.

Inevitably what'll happen, soon, is video will appear of masked plainclothes white men yanking a woman off the street into a van, and then ICE or CBP will go "no, actually that wasn't us"

And no one will be able to figure out whether they're lying, or ever see her again.
