As "60 Minutes" finalized its "Inside CECOT" report last Thursday, CBS sent the White House a request for comment. A WH spokesperson responded within a few hours. The quote was not included in the "60" report – so, judge for yourself whether it should have been included or not >>>

TREACHERY: Canadian company airs factually accurate news report even though it makes Donald Trump look bad and one of his lackeys in media censored it in the US.

NOT TREACHERY: Conspiring to overthrow Constitution. Rewarding Russian aggression against a US democratic partner. Taking foreign bribes.

The American people deserve to know the truth—did Tom Homan accept a bribe from undercover FBI agents or not?

Despite what the government claims, his personal interests are not more important than the American people.
The Trump-Vance admin claims it closed its investigation into border czar Tom Homan allegedly accepting a $50k bribe – yet it refuses to confirm the existence of records related to the investigation.

Our case proves the government is continuing to stonewall, and we will keep fighting for the truth.
No one is above the law. The public deserves transparency & accountability from government leaders. We'll be in court to get answers.

FYI Philly friends: HIAS PA, the resettlement agency in PA for HIAS National, has operated in Philadelphia since 1882. They had to terminate their refugee resettlement program this year due to federal funding cuts. They desperately need our support to continue their legal and social services.
If you are feeling helpless and hopeless in the face of the CECOT report, I’d like to suggest donating to HIAS. It’s a Jewish organization that actively protects displaced people and fights for refugee rights everywhere including against the Trump regime. 🧵
Your Impact Goes 3X Further Today
Around the world, refugees are fleeing violence and persecution — searching for safety and a chance to rebuild. HIAS is there to help them find welcome, protection, and opportunity. Right now, your ye...

Dear Media,

When JD Vance says "take the country back," what do you think he means? What would the party that controls the White House, Congress, the Supreme Court, and various state goats—plus leading businesses, media orgs, and more—take back? Take what from whom?

Thanks,

I know that nights like tonight can feel frustrating — and they are, in fact, bad — but, I also do think that nights like this show us how many people are still striving to do good journalism with accountability at its core.

And how clear it is when there are efforts to stop that journalism.

This is entirely to please Trump, who has voiced criticism of 60 Minutes under the new owners, who are the definition of rank amatuers, emphasis on rank. This Stephen Miller interview suggestion is idiotic in the context of this story and shows a startling lack of sophistication or smarts.

Doing another piece with Miller later is fine, but to add him here after the administration declines to officially have any comment is a suck up gimme. The real word we are looking for here is complicit.

Sometimes I wonder what many of us sacrificed our livelihoods for, when we we were courageous and spoke out about Gaza, while failing to stop the genocide.

Part of our success was, I think, in helping others to speak out when their turn came—a spark that will keep lighting until we’re all free

Jeffries should hire a crew to go there and take it down. He has just as much right to change the name as the Board (Trump) does.
Rep. Jeffries signaled it is illegal for Trump to rename the Kennedy Center without “legislative action.”

“The Kennedy Center Board has no authority to actually rename the Kennedy Center in the absence of legislative action."

i’ll admit, living in sf i don’t think about power outages a lot—let alone plan for them—but here are just a few things giving me big pause tonight:

1. robot cars adding to problems and/or creating new ones in already tenuous situations

see these many examples: bsky.app/profile/anic...
At least five FUBARed Waymo robots:

Market & Guerrero, SF

One is a problem, two a mistake, five a major ops screw up. Waymo has never fixed their cascading failure problem. Maybe they don't know how.

Fundamentally unfit for service at scale until they do, IMO.
