Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

Not only is it "failing to tackle" racist groups targeting those seeking asylum, it is reasonable, particularly as it includes those organising the St George's flag campaign which so many Labour MPs "understood", to say this government is emboldening them.

Lies, damned lies and the Telegraph. They posted CSJ figures using an outrageously false comparison of 2 cases. It claimed a benefits family were better off by £18k than a working household when the real figure was £16k worse off. The details benefitsinthefuture.com #benefits #budget

Ask about the ridiculous income inequality in the UK and whether Labour MPs might have to vote to change that through taxation? Nah, let's suggest instead that they might have to vote to put sick and disabled people into poverty. And LG was too lefty for the BBC!
"I want to get the welfare bill down - its size is a symptom of failure."

Does Labour Deputy Leader Lucy Powell foresee Labour backing welfare cuts as the bill keeps climbing?

Something that should be laid at the feet of Wes Streeting and likewise the SNP dragging their heels in Scotland -

If hormone therapy saves the lives of trans youth, what, logically, does that mean denying that care achieves?
1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics.

It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT.

It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.

Transgender care saves lives.
Study In The Journal Of Pediatrics Finds Trans Youth Care Lowers Suicidality, Few Detransition
The groundbreaking study found that suicidality dropped for transgender youth receiving hormone therapy by nearly 70%, with only 7 patients of 432 discontinuing treatment.

I am of course inclined to focus on the weapon's grade levels of inhumanity, cruelty, discrimination and racism involved in Labour's current policies, but on a purely practical level, they will utterly cripple the country, trash higher ed, the NHS, business etc, meaning everyone suffers.

Okay, fairly obvious, but, despite delusions of some, the UK is not a "main destination" for migration. It's actually a competitive market, jobs, students etc. Between Mahmood's, effectively xenophobic policies, and Reeve's budget targeting international students, the economy as a whole gets screwed

Can’t think why a trans person wouldn’t come forward to the British Transport Police and report that they’d been assaulted.

Total mystery. 🤔

I guess one difference between me and Elon Musk is that, if I was gaming an AI to say these things about me, and everyone could see that I had done this, I'd have simply no choice but to set myself on fire.

What surprised me back when the Lib Dems got into the coalition with the Tories (discovering that austerity was really a great idea) was that there wasn't a wave of defections of their MPs. Likewise, Labour is now the right wing authoritarian bigot party and their MPs are essentially fine with it.

I am hearing there’s a political campaign against the BBC by cynical liars and frauds who don’t care what’s real and only want to destroy it, and I can say: LOL too bad lads, you could not possibly more deserve to get wrecked by the wingnuts and cranks you were once so happy to promote.
