Like I said: I don't want to be a doomer. I don't want to believe the arc of history is bending toward the charnel pit. But I worry that we'll come out the other end post-Trump & just slap a Band-Aid on things, let a lot of goons off the hook & the rats will hide in the walls & bide their time again

It goes far, far beyond putting a bunch of D's in government. So many of our institutions- the media, police, finance, tech- need to be dramatically overhauled and corrected. A culture which actively incentivizes sociopathic, fuck-everyone-else behavior can't be abided... and yet that IS capitalism

I'm not trying to be a doomer but the rot runs so deep in this country right now that it would take years, possibly decades, to reverse course and doing so would necessitate punishing a LOT of people- and our track record as a nation vis-a-vis making the powerful pay for their crimes is not good
