Silicon Valley’s alliance with Donald Trump was a mask off moment and showed the world we can’t depend on US tech companies.

For the past few months, I’ve been trying to get off US tech and I put together a guide so you find alternatives too. I hope you find it helpful!
Getting off US tech: a guide
I’m in the process of dropping US tech services. Here’s how I did it, and options you should consider.

A picture is worth 1000 words...

This appeared on the BBC News today, showing the increase in solar electric generation in the UK.

Not sure who produced it, but genuinely think this is a genius piece of scientific communication - the construct and choice of colour scale is near-perfect.

Chapeau!

Elect a stupid orange rapist, get a stupid country.

It’s going to take a long time to rebuild the US once he and his enablers are gone.

Bluesky has felt sleepy for a while now. I want to encourage everyone to post more. Text is fine, but you know what? People enjoy damn near any picture of something neat. Food, your bike, a cat, whatever. Also, liking is nice, but reposting is what actually helps exposure.

America! What a complete train wreck. So sorry to all US people on here.

And to think we feted, wined and dined the orange rapist last week.

The vaccine and tylenol thing was awful but that UN speech was pure hate and bile.

And people want that in the UK….

Why is there ANY debate? 🤦‍♀️

20mph in Wales meant about 100 fewer people killed or seriously injured in a year.

“There is, perhaps, a lesson here for politicians: sometimes it can be best to ignore the noisiest voices, and take the evidence-based course.”

Does the news have a radicalising impact on others?

By nature I am a fairly boring Centrist Dad. An anti-Iraq War Blairite.

But Trump, Musk, Jenrick, Farage etc make me want to sing the Internalionale and man the barricades.

The same effect as reading the Daily Mail.
