Hello Bluesky! These are my comics. Scripts by me, art by wonderful people. You can buy them physically from freaktowncomics.bigcartel.com or digitally from globalcomix.com/a/freaktown-....

Alt text includes a brief description of each book.

Please take a look.

Please share this post. Thank you.
Ooh blimey, there's a lot going on here. The covers of eight comic books are arranged in a 4x2 grid under a Freaktown Comics logo in white on a black background. I won't try to describe the complex images, but I'll describe the comics.

From top left, we have Hairy Tales, which is an autobio comic about my teen years. Deadly Burlesque, a proto-slasher murder mystery. My 22 Always Works, a high concept noir told entirely in splash pages. Hairy Tales and Bald Truths: 22 Short Stories About Russell Hillman, a collection of autobio anecdotes.

Bottom row, we have The Best "F" In Comics, a collection of my short stories in various genres from humour to horror. The Dark of the Forest, seventies-set monster mayhem. Fast and Frightening: A Comic About Roller Derby is, unsurprisingly, a comic about roller derby. Finally, there's Slashermania, which is an epic slasher horror story.

Thank you for reading, please check them out if they sound like your sort of thing.

The national picture shows waiting times for gender identity clinics that far exceed the NHS's recommended maximum of 18 weeks.

But drilling down into the data from our investigation, 'The Gender Clinic Files' reveals huge disparities across the UK

THE GENDER CLINIC FILES
12 YEARS
England
58 YEARS
Scotland
2 YEARS
Wales
41 YEARS
Northern Ireland
The average waiting times across the UK according to QueerAF analysis shows they vary wildly around the UK:

Estimated wait time for a first appointment as of March 2025 (in years) based on QueerAF analysis of data from FOIs

🔴 England - 12 years
🔴 Wales - 2 years
🔴 Scotland - 58 years
🔴 Northern Ireland - 41 years

This data is shown in an infographic with a map of the UK alongside logos of QueerAF and What The Trans?!

Looks like those Scottish footballers from the 80s who seem to have been born aged 45

Just want to know this one's age, how do you call yourself "young" with that combover?

This. No amount of "special advice" will fix the fact that some people CAN'T work, and it also won't fix the fact that flexible/part-time/WFH jobs that pay ok are like gold dust, and disabled folks who could work part-time/WFH under the right circumstances are at a disadvantage in applying for them.

Does he really not see the problem with this?

These "Young Conservatives":

Not exactly young, are they? Not like William Hague addressing the conference at 16.

I hear "Young Conservative" and think of Harry Enfield as Tory Boy (Inspired partly by Hague). They look about the same age as he was.

Imagine saying “it’s happening whether you like it or not” and not thinking “wait am I making the thing I’m advocating for sound… rapey? Am I doing my best advocacy here?”

If you ever wonder if you might be a bad parent, the fact you're wondering probably means you're not. You don't have to be outstanding. You don't get extra points. You just need to survive and do as little harm as possible. Trust me

There's a new issue (Viz 350) in the shops. Sorry no refunds.
A post plugging the new issue of Viz (which, as we say, is in the shops today). A Top Tip reading as follows ... a-hem ... and here it is ... "Save money on whoopee cushions by farting loudly at dinner parties. Tim Steel, Hornchurch."

At what point in the last fifty, sixty years has Birmingham *not* been a multicultural city? I have never felt unsafe going anywhere in Brum *because ultimately it's just all Britain and the ethnic mix is one of the things in the country that actually works well*. Lose that and we're fucked

All this fucking racist poison about Birmingham. And all the wonderful things you can do in Birmingham. Go to the Barber. Go to the cathedral. Go and eat some of the most amazing Baltis you'll ever have. Go and eat some of the most amazing Caribbean food. Do these twats even *like* this country?

The great thing about seeing pics of Young Conservatives is that I think back to what I looked like at nineteen, and I feel a little less square.
