I am so very tired. Here’s more on the debacle that tanked Adelaide Writers Week, and the staggering racism involved. sakr.substack.com/p/resignatio...

I remain convinced that the arts are controlled by people whose values are diametrically opposed to the arts, who hate artists on principle and aren’t especially fond of the sort of people who like the arts either
The Adelaide Writers Festival now wrecked by the Adelaide Festival Board, half of which was appointed late last year: a marketing executive; a former politician; a local councillor/real estate agent; an airport manager; a lawyer; a media consultant; and a banker. Another public arts takeover fiasco.

I have no Christmas horror stories. My family is just the usual amount of dysfunctional. 😆 Enjoy your holidays, however you do them.

Me: I should read a book.
Also me: Nah I'm just going to rewatch the Richard Armitage episodes of The Vicar of Dibley for the 100000000th time.

If you begin Star Trek: Voyager episode Spirit Folk at exactly 11:49:35 on New Year's Eve, Ensign Harry Kim will kiss a cow as the clock strikes midnight. Join in a very dumb annual tradition and start 2026 off on the right hoof.

What is my current WIP? It's called Surviving the Summer Holidays, starring my 2 wonderful but exhausting children 🤣

There are many brilliant children's authors out there who have created incredible books, who don't always get the visibility they deserve. Explore your library or bookshop and ask for recommendations ❤️

You could just choose not to worry about why someone needs disability assistance. You could read a book or scroll on your phone or do sudoku, and just let other people do their thing.

You see someone come on on a chair and then get up and walk off, it doesn’t mean shit. You don’t know what they’re dealing with and why they did that.

Truly mind your own business.

My mom does this. She’s legally blind, and managing leading her and holding onto luggage and getting through a terminal and not losing things is too much for my dad to manage on his own. This is the only way they can get help, so that’s what they do.
