Politics and baseball obsessed. Feeling pessimistic now and need a pep talk
@hcrichardson.bsky.social How has this not a major national story? The history of anti semitism in Mississippi in the 60s is the subject of a great book call Terror in the Night by Jack Nelson. We are in a dark time in our nation.

Thune is the senate majority leader and didn’t know it was going to happen. How is that acceptable to him? The Constitution means as little to congress as to the president. DISGRACEFUL!
The corollary to this is acknowledging that the only people who can stop this are <Republicans> in Congress, & everyone - especially journalists - should stop giving them total free passes every day & asking them nonstop why they aren’t fulfilling their oaths & upholding the law or the Constitution.

How Camden tells the story of Mikie Sherrill’s big win and New Jersey’s blue wave
Sherrill reversed gains made by President Donald Trump last year that gave Republicans false hope that Jack Ciattarelli would do much better in November than he actually did.

No, New York Times, I'm pretty sure the man who got up on stage yesterday and said "we no longer have to apologize for being white" and who said America will always be a "christian nation" has firmly taken a side on bigotry.

He is a blatant antisemite. That may be the only thing he truly believes in.
We all know that JD Vance takes orders from Donald Trump. Once Upon a Time, JD Vance has a different perspective, until Donald Trump said "nice things" about him and then took a different route. JD Vance shouldn't have no room to really talk.
JD Vance: "Wouldn't you rather lead a movement of freethinkers who sometimes disagree than a bunch of drones who take their orders from George Soros?"

Don’t. Print. Lies. In. The. Newspapers.
Washington Post's new headline is still wrong.

1. The release was not "huge."
2. DOJ missed the deadline to release all the files.
3, No mention of extensive redactions.

One way that the reaction to Rob Reiner's murder mirrors Charlie Kirk's is that the best way to eulogize each of them is to quote their words, and in both cases, doing so pisses off conservatives.
Rob Reiner: “Silence in the face of authoritarianism is complicity. Speaking out is a patriotic act. Democracy doesn’t defend itself. It requires participation, vigilance, and courage from ordinary people."

Well said and 100% correct
I’m not even going to publish a copy of Trumps comments about Reiner and his wife. But occasionally he reminds me that he is simply one of the worst, most degenerate individuals who has ever existed in American public life. Hard to think of any more vicious, vile and sociopathic.

Last night marked Kuf Alef Kislev—the 81st anniversary of the Satmar Rebbe's escape from Nazi-occupied Europe. His rescue and founding of Williamsburg's Hasidic community shaped our city. Grateful to celebrate this history with the community and greet the rebbes.

It is not a “war crime”. It is MURDER!
It's great that reporting on the double tap has spotlighted the abject criminality of this Administration.

But don't forget: Venezuela is not waging war on America or Americans, and the men killed were not combatants.

The first strike was every bit as illegal as the second.

This is what a bunch of Democrats in the Senate just voted for:
