Even in these times of rapidly shifting norms, there was something shocking about the recent Home Office change in internal guidance, slipped in without the need for legislative scrutiny, to deny British citizenship to anyone arriving in the UK “in an unauthorised manner”;
Denying refugees citizenship? How low can we go?

The corrosion by wealth, normalising corruption in Westminster through insidious exposure. Forty years of immoral undermining of parliament. Stop the bribery and revolving door.

Gifts, temptation and the colossal corrosion of politics
At Westminster, gifts and freebies aren’t simple goodwill, but rather part of the slow pull of money that turns heads, normalises privilege and corrodes public service

Haven't posted this photo for a while - it's just over 5 years old, taken on the penultimate day of an incredible 50-day-long trip around #Iceland in 2020. Heavily processed, but sometimes you just have to!

Rare turf-sided Garston Lock, of early 18th century origin on the Kennet & Avon. The M4 of its day, the K&A was neglected under railway ownership from 1852, and neglected even more under Govt. ownership from 1948.

I don't usually get my drone up twice at the same place, but I was obsessed with these sand ripples, so had to. Took quite a few shots, so here's some more!

Another dusk shot from above the Kyle of Tongue - again with nice sand banks showing at low tide. They almost look volcanic (ie black sand), but think it was just the light.

The Polestar Oak
Marks the spot
Of the sun's most
Southerwards journey

Together, we count
Our lives in winters passed
When the sun pauses
Before the sap
Begins to rise.
