they didn’t leak it to make the shooter look innocent, but to make the victim look guilty. not guilty of a crime. guilty of having a visibly queer wife. guilty of liberalism. guilty of opposing the regime. they don’t seek to exonerate themselves, only to demonstrate who deserves to die.
In the video that the shooter took, which I believe was leaked to be exculpatory, he appears to yell “fucking bitch” after he shoots Renee Good.

Fuck you people. Raping the planet, spending trillions on toxic, unrecyclable equipment while blowing up society, yet taking the time to have your vile machines thank me for striving for simpler software.

Just fuck you. Fuck you all.

I can't remember the last time I was this angry.

big late breaking news: the market monitor for the largest energy grid in the u.s., covering much of the midwest and mid-atlantic, has called to block new data centers connections to the grid, saying current course of growth assures regular blackouts
No more PJM data centers unless they can be reliably served: market monitor
The PJM Interconnection’s market monitor urged the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to rule that large data centers can only come online if the grid operator can still meet reliability metrics.

"never pay a human again" is the first honest slogan anyone in the AI business has ever put up to describe their entire business plan
"Introducing Doublespeed, an [Andreessen Horowitz backed] startup operating a phone farm to flood social media with AI-generated slop on behalf of its clients.

Doublespeed clients can expect to pay anywhere between $1,500 and $7,500 a month for access to its phone farm."
AI "Phone Farm" Startup Gets Funding from Marc Andreessen to Flood Social Media With Spam
Andreessen Horowitz has injected $1 million into Doublespeed, a startup meant to flood social media with gobs of for-profit spam.

I like how the NYT tried to do a “some experts say” framing, and the expert was like, you do not need an expert opinion to see this is bad.

Man, shut the fuck up
The best way to honor Charlie's memory is to continue his work: engage with each other, across ideology, through spirited discourse. In a democracy, ideas are tested through words and good-faith debate — never through violence.

Ziff Davis and IGN routinely decide that work done by our laid off colleagues is not important. But inevitably, that crucial work falls onto those who remain.

Not this time. Not anymore.

Every flashbang could instead be a meal for a poor kid. Every hotel room for a National Guardsman deployed to fire at our neighbors could house a homeless vet. Every "less-than-lethal" bullet pulled from a journalist's eye could be already needed healthcare for anyone else. All of this is a choice.

i know it's just advertisement but it still pisses me off when tech CEOs claim AGI will solve humanity's problems with its vast intelligence. for a lot of problems we already know the solutions, what prevents them being solved is not a lack of intelligence, but that the solutions are unprofitable

This article links tech layoffs that started in 2022 to a Section 174 change in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which ended immediate R&D write-offs.

The assumption was companies using savings from the tax cuts to cover the increased tax bill on R&D spending. Instead they’ve cut headcount.
The hidden time bomb in the tax code that's fueling mass tech layoffs
A decades-old tax rule helped build America's tech economy. A quiet change under Trump helped dismantle it

Private insurers are literally killing people.
UnitedHealth secretly pressured nurses to change patients' records to include DNRs (Do Not Resuscitate) without their consent, so those patients would die instead of being saved with medical interventions that could cost UnitedHealth money.

This is murder.

The whole 'Grok is a boer now' thing is very funny, but it also really exposes how every 'AI tool' isn't just passively biased from training data, but actively designed to shape your worldview according to the interests of the billionaires who made them.

One way out.
Under capitalism, working class people are a resource. We exist to be consumed for profit, then discarded. Ableism is crucial for making that happen- it encourages people (including ourselves) to push us to breaking point, and then justifies abandoning us once we are no longer productive.
Disability is not a moral failing. It’s not a punishment. It’s not karma.

It’s part of the human experience. Our bodies are frail, and given enough time most people will experience disability.

The idea that we’re lazy, choosing not to “try hard” or want to be sick is a fallacy born out of ableism
