we just deployed a fix to a long-standing issue with our image cdn: images within posts are no longer unnecessarily scaled-up. that means many images will load faster and use less data. we also took this as an opportunity to improve the quality of full-size images, as many have requested! 🌅

While I didn't get the comet yesterday, I did get my first glimpse of M33. Fluffy little galaxy. Not as awkwardly large as the Andromeda galaxy M31, so fits within a few frames. Minimal mosaic. Will revisit to get a less noisy image, but I think this image is a good start. 1/ 🧪🔭

BlueSky is the one social media I really can enjoy just shooting the shit and talking about whatever with mutuals and whoever on. Yeah there's still unpleasantness but most days I can just talk about a very broad range of topics with smart people who know more about them than I do. It's great!

The main problem with Megalopolis is that a city is a bad metaphor for "making art," because you can be authoritarian when it's just you making a painting, but not when making a place where people live. Which is why the Wachowski's SPEED RACER (2008) is the superior film on this particular theme.
