we just deployed a fix to a long-standing issue with our image cdn: images within posts are no longer unnecessarily scaled-up. that means many images will load faster and use less data. we also took this as an opportunity to improve the quality of full-size images, as many have requested! 🌅

While I didn't get the comet yesterday, I did get my first glimpse of M33. Fluffy little galaxy. Not as awkwardly large as the Andromeda galaxy M31, so fits within a few frames. Minimal mosaic. Will revisit to get a less noisy image, but I think this image is a good start. 1/ 🧪🔭

Trying to work out a menu for the week. I hate this task. How am I supposed to know what I want to cook in the week?

Like, all I can think of is I want to have a veggie chicken and leek style pie tomorrow. All I can think of is pie. Mmmmm. Pie.

To anyone uninformed who would ever be tempted to say how "easy" it is to get on SSDI ...the system is designed to kill people so the government doesn't have to pay out as much.

This is not hyperbole, these are facts, these are numbers. These were all people who deserved fucking better.

BlueSky is the one social media I really can enjoy just shooting the shit and talking about whatever with mutuals and whoever on. Yeah there's still unpleasantness but most days I can just talk about a very broad range of topics with smart people who know more about them than I do. It's great!

The XBlock autolabelling functionality is currently offline while we transfer to the brand new XBlock-M model based on swinv2-small-patch4-window16-256. We'll update once it's back online again (and hopefully will fix the issues with us being unable to keep up to the firehose!)

The main problem with Megalopolis is that a city is a bad metaphor for "making art," because you can be authoritarian when it's just you making a painting, but not when making a place where people live. Which is why the Wachowski's SPEED RACER (2008) is the superior film on this particular theme.

My soul is deeply unfulfilled from this bacon void in my life right now.

I feel immense angst and existential dread over my lack of bacon.
