It's 2015. President Barack Obama has accepted a "sky palace" jumbo jet from the Qatari government, which he'll own after he leaves office. "Everybody relax," he says in an interview with the New York Times. Everyone does. The networks then televise the military parade in his honor on his birthday.

If you are the governor of a blue state and anywhere in Alabama has greater population growth than your largest city, the DNC should publicly behead you in Allah’s name.
2030 census is going to be a mess for the electoral college and Democrats:

If members of the press are worried they didn’t give enough coverage to the cognitive decline of a sitting president, they have an amazing opportunity to make up for it right now.

Bernie can get attention any time he wants, which isn't dependent on him holding office. If he hadn't run for reelection he could still get that attention and do his advocacy, while a younger replacement could cast the same votes, and that replacement might perform endurance stunts in the Senate.

You have to understand that they hate you. Yes you, the educated liberal or leftist reading this on educated lib-left dot com. They took away AIDS medication from children for the specific purpose of making this video to trigger you. Triggering you is the goal and they will murder children to do it.
Are all government accounts on X just troll accounts now?

This is from the official House Foreign Affairs Committee—the same committee responsible for foreign aid, global HIV/AIDS policy, security assistance, and national security. This is how they choose to represent themselves.

The Democrat who announces a primary challenge to Dick Durbin today, rather than waiting for him to announce his retirement, will raise $10 million in a week.
The Senate voted 56 to 44 to advance Trump's FDA commissioner, who was a "herd immunity" supporter during COVID.

3 Democrats joined Republicans in voting yes:
Durbin
Hassan
Shaheen

What is the last movie made that could plausibly be argued to be one of the top ten films ever made? Struggling to think of anything later than Mulholland Drive.

What too many people don’t grasp is that there a “fight” spectrum and an ideological spectrum. Many commentators and people in DC assume they pretty much line up exactly. This is not the case at all.
I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.

Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.

Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

I can understand the "thing is the right fight to pick" argument, and am even sympathetic to it. But you can't say that and then NOT PICK ANY FIGHTS.

People aren't pissed the shutdown isn't happening, we're pissed because our leaders don't even have a BAD strategy, it's all just pathetic flailing.

Why is Jeffrey Bezos sucking up to the fascists instead of greenlighting a new Stargate show that features plucky USAF members killing space fascists, to arrive just in time to cater to the anti-fascist backlash?

Egg inflation is so bad now, it's cheaper for me to get eggs at the GAS STATION (5.99) because they can't update their prices as fast as grocery stores.

this is literally their plan. elon's even said it "short term pain." they want a recession to discpline labor and they're confident they can ride it out with the return of low interest rates.
Forcing the fed to cut rates makes this seem like a feature not a bug for tech and the rest of the shitcoin cinematic universe
genuine question, at what point does this level of mass firing tip is toward a recession

Republicans are doing this because they want gay men and transgender women to contract HIV. They believe that dying of AIDS is a deserved punishment for having gay sex, just as they think that forced childbirth is a deserved punishment for sexually active women. This is not especially complicated.
Sorry, but we now have a once-per-six-months PrEP injection with a 96% efficacy in reducing HIV infections, and the response is to limit PrEP to only pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers? What?!

It's going to be much more expensive to provide lifelong treatment than work on prevention.

Pretty telling that the comparison here is “someone scolding you via a video you saw on Facebook that you found annoying” and “complete disregard for legal protections and long standing peaceful cooperation between nations”. It’s actually pretty accurate to how conservatives view the world

There is nothing funny about the fact that corruption is happening in plain sight.

But there is something amusing and deeply satisfying about watching Eric Adams get debased and humiliated like this and have to sit there and take it.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
Tom Homan basically admits to a quid pro quo for dropping the corruption charges against Mayor Eric Adams in exchange for enforcing Donald Trump's mass deportation plan.

"If he doesn't come through...I'll be in his office, up his butt, saying 'where the hell is the agreement we came to?'"

Vile.

US state media is falling in line.
President Donald Trump has repeatedly said Canada should be the 51st U.S. state as he proposes to erase the 5,525-mile-long border that separates the two countries.

Here’s what it would take to transform Canada from a nation to a state.
Trump’s remarks on Canada becoming the 51st state raise a lot of questions

It was done coldly and peacefully by a bunch of smirking newgrads with macbooks, but given the second order deaths that are easily foreseeable, from a consequentialist POV was the destruction of USAID a worse attack on a federal agency than the OKC bombing?
