I wrote about Kendrick Lamar Superbowl performance-- its subversive messaging about America being a rigged, deadly game of survival-- especially for Black people.

But we need to stop pretending revolution is going to come from celebrities. It'll come from us.

Opinion | Kendrick Lamar’s performance was as Black and subversive as all get-out
His message at the Super Bowl was a warning and a threat.

As I understand it as a very non-techy person, they add a couple spaces &/or tiny images & format quirks - things normally unnoticeable, which they use to identify shared copies as coming from individuals

They used this at Tesla

We all like to yell at the Democrats, but it’s really Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune who are letting Elon Musk and his faceless goon squad make a mockery of their power as leaders of a coequal branch without uttering a peep or lifting a finger.

Occasional reminder that whenever you say "sparks joy" you are not quoting Marie Kondo.

You are quoting her translator, Cathy Hirano. She invented "sparks joy" out of whole cloth.

What Marie Kondo says is "This makes my heart go pitter pat."

If you are a manga or comic fan, and you know who Tezuka is but not Shigeru Mizuki...

Let's just say your knowledge is lacking.
Shigeru MIzuki is the most famous manga artist you have never heard of.

In Japan, he is on equal status with Tezuka. When artists would do group jams like this, always squarely in the middle, anchoring the piece, are Mizuki and Tezuka.

Together, they built the world of manga.

As a heads-up, “Price Gouging” is legally defined as raising the price of a thing (here, rent) by more than 10% over the pre-event price. If you see that happening in LA via, say, Zillow or somewhere, you can report it there, or(inclusive or) list it here:
