Was looking over Hegseth's bullshit speech and came across this: "I'm also directing that war fighters in combat jobs execute their service fitness test at a gender-neutral, age-normed male standard..." How can a "male standard" be "gender-neutral"? Can someone explicate that one?

The Trump administration spent $167,000 to destroy $9.7 million worth of birth control and other contraceptives that were supposed to go to low-income countries. Imagine hating helping so much that you’d actually spend money just to make sure others don’t get help.

First it was troops in L.A., sent to provoke and assault peaceful protesters under the banner of “immigration enforcement.” Now it’s troops in our capital to disappear the homeless. See the pattern? Sooner or later, the monster comes for us all.

Undocumented immigrants pay almost $100 billion in taxes each year.

The top 1% evade $163 billion in taxes each year.

Stop pretending that immigrants are the ones taking advantage of taxpayers.

ICE is the January 6 insurrectionists all over again. Only instead of attacking law enforcement, they are pretending to *be* law enforcement. And instead of just terrorizing at the Capitol, they are doing it EVERYWHERE.

The Trump administration is trying to negotiate with elite universities to strike a "deal." They're feeling the need for a political win after public opinion is in Harvard's corner (much to their surprise).

Most Americans have no idea how much goodwill is generated by USAID around the world. That goodwill keeps Americans safer. The budget is minuscule compared to others and 97% must be spent on American products.

Elon Musk has been a walking SEC violation for a decade and no one cared. The entire Trump era could have been avoided if the US took white collar crime anywhere near as seriously as it does low level drug crime.

On a 2023 earnings call, Elon Musk boasted that Tesla had bagged “over 1 million” Cybertruck reservations and that “demand is off the charts.”

So why has the company still sold less than 50,000 trucks since customer deliveries began 14 months ago?

“Demand is off the charts!” Elon Musk crowed at the end of 2023, citing more than a million reservations for Tesla's polarizing polygonic pickup—so why has it still sold less than 50,000?

Absolutely!
Among the most self-defeating things right now are the cuts to accessibility. So much innovation comes out of accessibility. All tech starts as assistive tech; even shoes, coats, carpets. What makes things possible for someone makes things easier for everyone and all evolutionary roads lead to easy

-Started a trade war with allies, but gave China a light touch.
