Hey folks: I want to ask you that if you see an assertion of something that the government is/isn’t doing that isn’t cited or evidenced — even if it’s part of a post that you want to repost for some other reason — you not do that. You’re lending credibility to something that’s essentially rumor.

DHS claim that the husband & wife shot in Portland are gang members echoes the Department of "War" claim that two of the survivors of one of the boat attacks were also gang members. These gang members are so dangerous deadly force must be used but once an attempt is made they don't arrest them.

The source that informed me of this said the Border Patrol officer in question claimed the victims were trying to run him over in their car, which is why he shot.

Every so often I think about how Minnesota holds, continues to hold, and will never return the 28th Virginia Batte Flag as a spoil of war, won righteously against the slaver-oligarchs and their willing goons in battle at Gettysburg.

I don't know if this is esoteric but this year I'm trying to write several Powered by the Apocalypse style TTRPG systems. I think it is just such a fun system that really focuses on narrative. I've become convinced that if you want wargaming play 40K or Pathfinder. D&D 5e fails on wargaming and RP
u heard sharon, everyone post about their esoteric interests right fucking now. for the good of the community, we need to be hyperfixationmaxxing.
i think this site really needs to figure out how to grow the non-politics verticals (the baseball moment was a good thing!) because i suspect a lot of the bad clusters come out of the political clusters driving 95% of ENG-lang posts

Interesting they didn't list The American Conservative as one of Dreher's previous publications. Maybe because then people would go back and see his batshit crazy posts.

My pitch for a Game of Thrones spinoff is the tragic rise and fall of the person making the giant outdoor banners with the various house insignias that hang on the exterior of the castles. They get an order for a hundred new ones only to have the ruler be killed as soon as they finish them.

This reminds me of when Mayor Pete said that weapons of war should be used overseas but not at home. Our chickens always come home to roost. Violence here or overseas should be unacceptable and a tragedy.

This plus Trump's concerns about getting into Heaven make me think that Trump does actually want to do good things but is constantly letting the passions control him.

This matches the experiences in my own parish, lots of young men coming to services and talking about masculinity. Some do soften a bit when they get more involved in person but there's still plenty of Orthobros who are being influenced by online communities.

I read a right wing dystopian novel where a "woke" leftist government targeted Christian churches during Easter as the first move of their take over of civil society & creation of a totalitarian regime.
"Agencies within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, including ICE, ERO, and CBP intend to implement a comprehensive plan to target Spanish-speaking churches across the country during the upcoming holiday season between Thanksgiving, Nov. 27, and Christmas, Dec. 25."

I grew up in a conservative evangelical home, I was told by my parents and the grownups in our church & homeschool circles that Jesus wanted us to feed the poor & needy. And that government shouldn't tell private companies how to run their businesses. Guess they were all lying about that.
The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email
