This is a pattern now. Trump says something outrageous and shockingly awful and then just... Keeps saying it. He conditions us to accept the worst from him. I shouldn't be shocked he said that. He's BEEN saying it. Somehow I'm still surprised when the dog-whistle vanishes.
My partner--who goes outside sometimes and gets most of his US news from me-- was confused when I told him trump admitted there won't be an election in 2028 if he wins. He was certain that had already been established. And it has but he's never been so direct about it before.

As I work on Project Lighthouse, I keep reminding myself that the characters are adults and may not act the way I would in their situation. Then I remember I'm 30 and this might be the most mature I ever get and just have to stare out the window for awhile.
