the reason the media doesnt cover stories is because right-wing podcasts funded by billionaires set the information agenda in this country for mainstream media

The Avatar cultural relevance discussion in a nutshell:

"It’s irrelevant because I ignore it, and I ignore it because it's irrelevant."

This reasoning shows up a lot when popular art collides with critical identity, and it says more about the critic’s limitations than the work's significance.

If the media is covering a protest it is a right wing astroturf garbage dump. 100% The media literally ignores millions of people protesting if it's any actual issue that effects real people. But if 20 truck drivers suddenly want to dictate national policy on vaccines they get coverage for 6 months.

Brett Meiselas: If the Epstein files had all this evidence that showed Trump actually was not involved and it actually incriminated all these Democrats, Trump would be the first to release them.

But there is a reason that they are keeping all of this information hidden from the American public.

Capitalism will end. It has zero purpose outside of protecting cruelty, violence and child exploitation. It does not measure any level of merit. The only thing wealth symbolizes is corruption. The only promise of wealth is escaping the harm capitalism creates artificially to sustain its hierarchy.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

40 men Trump sent to CECOT tell the NYT they were beaten, tortured, and sexually assaulted. The details are worse than you can imagine.

We can’t let them get away with this. Miller and the other architects of this sadism need to go to prison.

Turns out the sweetheart deal that Trump's former Labor Secretary Alex Acosta gave Epstein back in 2008 was even worse than we thought. Epstein's emails show Acosta tanked an investigation that had Epstein dead to rights on money laundering, and other financial crimes.
🚨 EXPLOSIVE NEW investigation: We uncovered previously undisclosed details about an 18-month money laundering investigation into Jeffrey Epstein that took place alongside the 2007 sex crimes probe, according to emails obtained from Epstein's personal Yahoo account

Folks, please note this. The top military official overseeing Trump's boat bombings recently resigned with no explanation, and now Republicans in Congress are refusing to press for his testimony even in a classified setting.

Lots of new behind-the-scenes reporting in this piece:
News on Trump boat bombings --> Rep Adam Smith, top Dem on Armed Services, tells me GOPers are failing to press for testimony from the top Pentagon official who recently resigned, potentially over the strikes.

Appallingly, we may never hear from him.

Baloney. The masses used to be able to see the advantages/successes of effective governing. Because it was reported fairly. Modern media is run by corporate power working against the public good. It has spent 50 years trying to sabotage/bury every form of government that serves the public good.
I think there are essentially three root errors that are killing the left-of-center’s ability to navigate present-day politics.

First: DELIVERISM

Liberals and progressives want to believe that if you do things that help voters, they’ll like you. But often, they don’t notice or care.
Every time I read stuff like this, the whole premise of deliverism (people will reward you with votes for doing good things so you should do more good things) is dead wrong. When you have the power you should do good things on their own merits, and it’s disconnected from electoral outcomes.
