Exactly. We can’t be complying with this administration and institutions should be saying no to all their demands.
This is why I get annoyed at calls for peace and civility, because it gives the impression that if we all just behave and comply then the fascists will surely leave us alone.

Our power lies in withholding services. We need to do this. How do we start?
That feeling of watching the state of the world and thinking “we still have to go to work and act like everything is normal?”

Hold that feeling, it’s step one of the general strike.

The military assault on Venezuela, the shooting of a woman by an ICE agent, the launch of the White House’s new revisionist website about January 6—these three events convey a powerful and unsettling message from Trump and his crew:

Violence is ours to use, at home and abroad, to get what we want.
The Trump doctrine: Violence is us
The message is clear—be afraid.

Now is the time to contact your reps and senators about what they are doing to hold the Trump administration accountable in this brazen illegal move in a sovereign country. The escalating use of force and rhetoric is dangerous. I contacted @adamschiff.com for California.

It really was warm in the S.F. Bay Area, and this has been a recurring pattern getting warmer and warmer. I have personally seen the effects on ecosystems around the Bay Area but also in the tree die offs in the Sierras, Klamaths, and Southern Cascades. Contact your reps.
It’s pretty astonishing. December was 8-10°F above normal across much of the Western US. The area shaded in dark red equals the warmest December on record. A huge area. Overall the US finished December 3°F above normal despite a chilly Northeast.

Seriously. The history of IQ and collecting data on learning is deeply entrenched and seeped in racism in the United States. IQ and standardized testing in education were born out of eugenics, which universities like Stanford would offer careers in during the 20th century.
The reason that centrist pundits are so enamored with IQ and race science is that acknowledgment of what a disadvantage it is to be marginalized in this country simultaneously invalidates both their own place in society and any solution that isn’t “better social safety net/schools/resources”
I was wondering why their is so much random racist discourse on Somalis on the TL rn but oh it’s election season for governor rn lol

They want to wipe out almost a third of the country. It’s got nothing to do with illegal immigration.

It’s white nationalism pure and simple. They’re fascists, and there’s no reason to doubt it.

Question: But the president’s statements that he believed the election was rife with fraud—those are statements protected by the First Amendment, correct?

Smith: Absolutely not. If they are made to target a lawful government function and are made with knowing falsity, then no, they are not.
