You were a good girl.
Wow, I've just detached my first quote post.

Willfully misunderstanding a post regarding copyright is certainly one way to try and justify your theft.

Please don't engage with bullshit like this.

It's fine if you don't like of certain food but these takes are just full-on bullshit and I'm so fucking done with it.

DO BETTER
Apple pie is bad. This is not really debatable. So is key lime pie, while we’re on the topic. Pecan pie is the 🐐 tho.

And if you can't get it through your library?

THEN IT'S OKAY IF YOU DON'T GET IT.

You will survive not reading a specific book until you can afford it.
Libraries are free for you to use, serve the public good, are great, support creators financially and, I cannot be clear enough about this-- ARE FREE FOR YOU TO USE-- so pirating books makes you kind of an asshole, not some Marxist revolutionary.

If the book you want isn't there *request it.*

Because I turn into an 85-year-old man every winter, I treated myself to this incredible Advent calendar - 24 samples of port!

Now I just have to get my fruitcake and aged cheddar, and I'll be set for the season 😂

This goes double for Black Friday sales in Canada 😖
It's very annoying that Black Friday has turned into a whole ass month.

I can't say I expect to sell many tickets on my tiny Bluesky, but I'll dream anyway. I really want this to work and I truly think anyone who attended would have an amazing time.

It's called Generator. Coming to Massey Hall on the 27th.

Please tell your people.

I have a huge show in Toronto on Thursday.

It's a night to celebrate people who deserve it. Afghan educators. The vets who save endangered species. Trinidadian poets. Hollywood comedians. Inuit musicians. It's crazy and so so fun.

But social media is dead. How do I even tell people it's happening?

Gift link - the justifications from both the police and the contractor are the biggest pile of bullshit I've seen in a while.

If you live in Toronto, apparently you now get to do anything you want as long as no one complains about it!

The cover art is finished for my new book and I LOVE IT!

This safari tour of the life in soil and what is means to us, is now available for pre-order as ebook, soft and hardcover in the UK and Commonwealth. Published in August next year (US date soon), I hope it'll entice everyone to love soil! 🧪🪱

My other conclusion was that learning to mend clothing was probably the single most sustainable thing I could do, and that at least was wholly in my control.

For over 15 years, I worked in a niche science of a niche science - as in, IIRC, there were only one or two other labs in all of NA, and one in Europe and one in Australia that studied the same thing.

I published in ~ 5-6 different journals in that time.

...1/2
If you produce research (published or not) why can’t you produce a lay summary with it? If not being elitist, why not have additional impact (sharing amongst non academic/different fields and actual real world impact or combatting disinformation/misinterpreation & accelerating application?)
