Forget even prosecuted. The party will NOT defund ICE. And most of their voters will be fine with this if they return to power. I don't think this is defeatist in the least. To me, it's reality. You would expect to see something different right now if they were going to act differently in power.
We shouldn’t be doomer defeatists about these things, but we also shouldn’t go in ignorant. These ICE thugs tearing families apart are more likely to remain in their jobs than be prosecuted based on everything we know about the Democratic Party.

Talking to one of these types at a con who asked how I 'got in' with so many 'famous writers' who I'd been talking to and I said "we made friends before anyone knew who we were decades ago by striking up interesting conversations and enjoying each other's company" and he kept re-asking the question.
They have come to the convention hoping to "break in" and then find themselves -- shocker! -- a "nobody in the book world." Yeah no shit! We all are! I have gently told guys like this a million times that it takes most of us *years* of hard work but they do not believe that could be true for them. +

I highly encourage any and every artist to register their own domain and get a connected email for business communications. There are plenty of cheap domain registries out there these days.

The spammers and scammers are out heavy right now. Always practice caution. Ask, Where is this email coming from? Most companies have their own domain name and will not use a gmail email to contact you. Go to the website in question directly, do not click through any links you don't fully trust.

So basically Twitter is telling artists that it hates them. Btw., the same function also works for photos, so cosplayers, models, etc., aren't safe either.
For further context twitter added a button that allows users to generate ai images using existing art posts from artists. It removes glaze and it basically reskins the artwork by using the existing work as a base. Twitter is no longer a safe space for art

My favorite part about this joke is that an actual artist had to go out of their way to draw this. They didn't take the easy way out and actually use an AI generated image, they had an actual artist make a parody of AI art. And the joke is way better because of it.
