How exciting! With the opening of the new Indigenous law wing at the @uvic.ca students, facility, and community members can engage in dialogue around #Indigenous history and law, and expand their understanding of trauma-informed legal practice.

I just learned about the CIHI podcast and it's fantastic. This one on substance use and mental health innovation and the urgency to take action is short, but filled with hope and useful data.

@charliejane.bsky.social I'm reading All the Birds in the Sky right now. It's incredible and I don't want it to end, I only have 2 chapters left though! Thank you for this delicious book, I've eaten it up in a week and the characters have free rent in my brain now.

The fires are so extensive across Manitoba, Saskatchewan & Ontario currently that there are not enough air crafts to rescue remote Native Canadians.

I am sending an SOS to every nation to help save the lives of people who are going to burn alive. Literally.

Canada needs evacuation assistance.

I dream of a day when bike parts, ebike parts, and wheelchair parts are all part of the same supply chain. There will always be some specialty parts, but even a 70% overlap would help.

@mark-carney.bsky.social why aren't you making newsworthy announcements on @bsky.app instead of the other app that is owned and operated by the same people trying to tear Canada down? So many politicians have stood up and deleted the other app - when will you?!

On my last night as MP, I thank Jack Layton for inspiring me to run for public office.
Jack made me believe it was possible to do politics with integrity. He loved our country and he loved people.
He said politics was about getting your hands dirty and taking chances to make life better for people

Selling off federal lands for home building — as Poilievre wants to do — is a bad idea. Keeping them and building affordable homes on — as the NDP wants to do — is a good idea.

"As in many other capitalist democracies... tepid centrism only prolongs the lurch to the right...A consummate technocrat like Carney, committed in his bones to neoliberalism, can only exacerbate the economic pain that is driving greater numbers of people into the arms of the right"
Mark Carney is yet another shift to the right with neoliberalism that favours the wealthy and undercuts the workers.

As this Maple headline reads, he may be "better" than Poilievre, but we can't ignore the serious issues Carney brings.
