Well done for making it to the end of January.

Stop whatever you're doing and read a book to reward yourself.

If you don't have a book, then buy one from an indie bookshop, that way you'll be making TWO people happy.

Again, this entire discussion is missing a key detail.

Trump wants to fire EVERYONE who treated an attack on Congress, targeting key members of Congress by name.

He's saying if you think defending Congress is part of your job, you're fired.
NYT reported that the number of potentially affected agents is as high as 6k. The bureau has about 13.7k agents total
What a hideous headline. Folks calling the shots here are just corrupt banana republic trash.

It was the FBI that resisted investigating Trump in 2021 because of what happened to them after the Mueller probe. They pushed back against Garland's warrants and subpoenas, early on, and made concessions for the Mar a Lago search. Imagine how reluctant they'll be after this purge.

Every country that Trump slaps a tariff on should retaliate by slapping a 1000% tariff on all Tesla and Starlink products, if only to show Elon that there is a downside to using our public government as his private playpen.

If I was one of the 2 astronauts stranded in space I'd have serious misgivings that I had to rely on my ride home coming from the guy who drops Nazi salutes as casually as he shows up for public appearances overtly Ketamined out of his mind.
I was taught: “Safety first always…” Sadly, what we’re now seeing is a shoddy aerospace & automotive tyrant oligarch attack our hallmarks of #safety & targeting those who dared to question his shortcomings. NTSB is next for #Musk. He’s targetting regulators/trying to vanquish them as he did w/FAA.

Setting up multiple fake NTSB Newsroom accounts and paying for verification would be a good way of pointing out the issue of relying on a Twitter account vs. an email that comes from a .gov address
There it is. NTSB only sending info out via X now. Expect the same from CDC FDA etc. soon.

This is fascinating because, as I referenced yesterday, NTSB (and the Chemical Safety Board) have uniquely independent management structures, so this is likely a Musk directive over some small part that is handled by GSA

tl;dr is that Musk is big mad he doesn't have an "in" to easily fire/disrupt
The NTSB says it will no longer email news outlets or reporters with notifications of upcoming press conferences, including those on plane crashes in Washington and Philadelphia.

Instead, all notifications will be made on X.

We're filing a FOIA to find out more about the change in policy.

Among other things, this shows that the neutrality of the NTSB - one of the respected government agencies in the world, the gold standard for investigating serious disasters - has been totally compromised by partisan loyalists to the Trump-Musk regime.
The federal National Transportation Safety Board has declared that all updates on the crashes in Washington and Philadelphia will now only be posted on its X account. No emails and no other platforms, naturally.

Again: buying Trump was the best investment co-president Musk ever made.

Someone should write a bot that mirrors NTSB's twitter to Bluesky. It is 100% legal to do so, the government cannot copyright its works.

The NTSB will from now on issue notification and updates on news conferences exclusively through the Elon Musk owned X platform.

They will no longer email notifications to the press or issue notifications via NON Musk platforms.

In case you wanted to know how the fascism was going.
