So I have the cover story in next month's TNR.

I interviewed the heads of police groups; immigration defense attorneys, ex-judges and ex-prosecutors; former DOJ and DHS officials, and the former head of Border Patrol.

They're all horrified at what we've seen, and they all fear what's coming.

Cutting school funding sources for all Oregonians. Ensuring that traffic congestion gets worse forever. Tying the hands of local governments to raise critical revenues. We have no plans or vision - THE DEMOCRATS!
Cutting property taxes for Oregonians affected by wildfires. Canceling planned freeway tolls. Pausing local new taxes in the Portland area. We have to keep going to make life more affordable for Oregonians.

I think a case can be made that 9/11 gut-shot the long 20th century, and it took 15 years or so for the effects of that to fully make themselves known
My beloved AP European History teacher always said that modern centuries only truly "begin" 14 to 18 years after the technical turn of the calendar:

1517 (Luther's Theses)
1618 (Defenestration of Prague)
1714 (Peace of Utrecht)
1815 (Napoleon defeated)
1914 (WWI begins)

and

2016 (Trump wins)

Wow! The end state is that these corporations don't want you to actually go the grocery store. They want you to shop for groceries online - because in the actual store it is harder to change the price for individuals. You see this in reduction of check out lanes, etc. www.youtube.com/watch?v=osxr...

If you're not trans, I don't think I can fully explain how important this is.

It's so powerful that one of the most circulated science media publications in the world has come out and said "trans children are real and providing transition care improves their lives." That's groundbreaking.
The name "Popular Science" doesn't mean we shift our coverage depending on public opinion. It means we cover relevant subjects that are rigorously researched, reliable, and grounded in reality.

And trans lives are grounded in reality.

We see y'all. No matter what.
