Lauren R.

If I can shoot rabbits, then I can shoot fascists.

Hater of rhetorical questions, conditional whiteness, white supremacy, & omnicide.

My favorite place on earth was the B-39 submarine in San Diego Bay.

(She/they/Moscow Mules/Moscow Rules)
Peter Steele would have loved GDT's Frankenstein: Post-Modern Modern Prometheus.

Thank you, Spirit of the Forest.

All I did this weekend was watch films & look at props that explicitly state why this is bullshit & should not be, only for this "it's a big club & you ain't in it" taxonomy reminder.

Ghastly.
“probabilities on polymarket”

polymarket and online gamblification of every aspect of our lives is the worst new development of the world in 2025

I post about movie stuff because if I posted what I really thought there would be teams of people taking me away.

I had to limit an elder family member's access to buying in on Monopoly Go. Disastrous, destructive, mortifying.

I was accused of generating the receipts, being upset about the past, when that wasn't it. Absolutely heartbreaking, predatory, terrifying stuff.
I heard from someone today who interviews families destroyed by online sports gambling. A lot of sons bankrupting their families etc.

I truly don’t know how anybody is making it right now.

I also need something less soul destroying to focus on for a day or two.

"Crooked Officer" - Geto Boys remains one of my favorite pieces of art.
Remembering today that having your heart broken is a necessary step on the path to becoming fully human. Whichever heartbreak is your first, it’s probably critical that a state break your heart so that you can develop a political imagination. If this is your first, I’m sorry and also welcome.

DoomDash.

Too much Handmaid's Tale, not enough Parable of the Sower.

I still think Oryx & Crake was more prescient than HT if we were going to showcase works from that author.

Brought Teddy ("A.I." 2001) in homage to many things, especially Death Stranding - a talisman & petition to the Spirit of the Forest, on my cane yesterday for my visit to "Frankenstein: CRAFTING A TALE ETERNAL" - Teddy's 'father' was Stan Winston.

Thank you so much, @realgdt.bsky.social

This. I also like that little seat adjustment to the depth — short people issues. But I’m telling you, that’s about as far as we should go.
Peak automotive innovation in the convenience space was the button that moves the seat to the exact position you saved it in after someone moved it to some super inconvenient position. Everything since that has been a modern-day retelling of Icarus.

Eat a raw flank steak. Chug the contents of a bar mat peppered with cigarette ash & shout:

"BABBITT BABBITT! WHICH LAND SHALL WE SEIZE NEXT FOR STEPHEN MILLER TO INHABIT?"

Then you spin around in an office chair until you barf! Death be not proud, boys! Cum on, feel the noize!
remember to leave bullet casings out for ashli babbitt tonight ❤️❤️✝️

We said it'd start visibly with sports - and you need on-site talent, rentals, & operators. Then it would expand to comedy & music, which launders it for everyone else. So people can pronounce Qatar.

"Oh no? Never."

Sure.
Why are people pretending They’re shocked that Qatar is the clearing house for regime change and state capture by the fascists in America.

How else do you think they’re laundering everything?

We also don't discuss the SSFL/Tijuana dump sites enough. They don't all qualify for superfund status.

When I tell people about the condos that Trump abandoned in Baja California, I made it up, even with the monolingual signs near sprinklers & wells saying "don't drink the water" in English.
Terrible time to be a disinformation expert who studied recent Latin American history and covered the U.S.-Mexico border for more than a decade

Chris Martin in the Counting Crows documentary:

"Oh, Adam worked at the ... Viper Room. So he could remember how to be human."

Me, having worked there, yelling at the TV:
"Mentally ill people in LA worked there between tours. You didn't go to the Dirty Lounge. Go fuck a ticking clock."

The DEI conversation in the industry I've been in for a very long time (entertainment is a laughable misnomer) has been coming from the BtL white men in unions scared of more strikes, believing nobody wants to hire white men, when they go around conducting themselves the way that they do.
Okay. Since I posted this yesterday, so many people have tried to convince me that we "won" against crypto and it's dead. Because they don't hear about it anymore. I really need y'all to pay attention. Crypto is still huge. Not only is it not dead, it continues to cause massive harm.
DEI is banned. Cryptocurrency is still around and has largely succeeded at perpetuating the largest siphoning of wealth I think I'll ever see in my lifetime. Cops are still killing Black people, and now they get to kidnap everybody else too.

It drank too much soju at the kbbq ayce on the 3rd level & tripped on the escalator to karaoke on the 1st level next to the shuttered arcade, resulting in a medley of X Japan/Missing Persons/L'Arc-en-Ciel/Audioslave selections. A Les Miserables song, too, for France France Revolution (Soju Reprise)
The Dance Dance Revolution was 26 years ago and we’ve still yet to see any significant change or progress in Dance Dance Legislation.

I wish Spike Milligan could sidle up to Farage with a bag of 18 hour old fish & chips. As Farage tucks into it, Spike would fart into a trumpet & giggle.
We really are through the fucking looking glass

I'm watching my favorite Christmas movie (Leaving Las Vegas, starring Mariska Hargitay & Lou Rawls) & the audio mix is delightfully bad.

Nic Cage shouting "ANGEL, I'M SO HARD" over Michael McDonald crooning, & here's Xander Berkeley making anal jokes in a taxi.

That's the Roland Emmerich version. I'm not going to be nice about his bullshit, I never have been, that fuckman couldn't cut a check big enough to shut me up about what a loser he is.

I could have told you this because Quentin Tarantino gave my ex-husband a nervous breakdown on "Alias" over a minor insert 20+ years ago.

QT would not look at the camera head-on & Stars needed to pop his head in a box for a CIA badge in a non-America's Next Top Model manner. Mariah Carey shit.

I feel like it was just yesterday that the asshole was storing boxes of state secrets in a tacky bathroom, then someone I loved died mysteriously on a certain day, now I'm in hell & because I thought better of my peers, family members & friends, wake up to shit that does get worse on a daily basis.

My mother watches MSNBC 24/7 & tells me what her close personal friend Ari did that day, but if I tell her what's happening where I live, I can hear her blood pressure rise as she makes excuses for people who'd never return that favor, or how it's choking me & my peers.
something very strange about how eagerly americans will consume content talking about how bad fascism is as it encroaches but any discussion on how to actually organize against it sends people into fits of rage.

I think we're going to need to go back to, like, webrings, and BBS/usenet or something.
Suspending Erin Biba, a Jewish woman for this skeet is nasty work. Between this and intentionally misreading Link’s use of a meme as a threat, bsky mods are more than willing to ban based on the Spirit Of The Law for *some* posters but never Jesse Singal.
