It seems really weird to be questioning the CEO of JP Morgan Chase on why they didn't donate to the new WH Ballroom.

I'd be questioning those who did donate instead of effectively normalising it by questioning those who didn't
Dimon on why JPMorgan Chase is not funding WH Ballroom:
We have an issue, which is anything we do, since we do a lot of contracts with governments here and around the world, we have to be very careful how anything is perceived, and also how the next DOJ is going to deal with it.

I know posting it on here is somewhat preaching to the audience but I actually think there’s something more sinister about Elon Musk than there ever was about Rupert Murdoch because of how Musk controls information on X and ‘Grokiepedia’ is another attempt to control the narrative

It must be so frustrating for them that Parliament is sitting so they can't call for Parliamment to be recalled to discuss it. Cobra a poor replacement.

I technically can drive, drove for 9 years but haven't driven in 5 years, I miss the convenience and freedom driving can bring but don't miss driving that much
collecting car boyfriend has rented for our holiday and there's something quite specifically humbling about a Polish teenager looking at you both and going "only one driver?", yes my good man, thirty-something buffoon over here cannot be trusted with more than a bicycle, but thanks for checking

Whenever I see clips of Howard Lutnick and listen to what he says he always sounds like a moron but this guy was the CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald before he got his current job
Lutnick shits on Canada ahead of tomorrow's meeting: "They have basically been feeding off of us for decades upon decades upon decades. They have their socialist regime and it's basically feeding off of America...why do we do our films in Canada? C'mon!.. I just don't see how it works out perfectly"

Why are we not doing this? Never seen a more "no brainer" policy. Even people who are the most strongly opposed to immigration tend not to object to top scientists coming here.

Is Witkoff actively stupid or just plain naive?

Also more seriously why is he in the position he is in, he apparently has no diplomacy background so why is he doing this?
BREAM: Do you feel there's a misconception about the characterization of Putin as a tyrant or someone whose political opponents often die?

WITKOFF: I think in my 68 years on this earth, I've never, ever seen a situation where there isn't two sides to a story. There are grievances on both sides.

This is what happens when you know the price of everything and the value of nothing, DOGE isn’t about government efficiency, it’s about brutal cuts that don’t make sense, also it can lead to a more inefficient government.

Remind me agin on how America is supposedly the 'Land of the Free' but the government can control what books they deem appropriate?
A new North Dakota bill would require stores to pull any book with any "material harmful to minors" from the shelves.

For those in the cheap seats, that effectively means ANY mention of sex, sexuality or gender.

A bookseller could be arrested for displaying 1984.

Port: It's not just about kids, and it's not just libraries
Legislation under consideration in Bismarck wouldn't just restrict access to books in schools and libraries. The language of the bill also applies to private book stores.

Ruh Roh, also Trump with his “I think that one can be worked out” is slightly concerning especially as any deal we make isn’t worth the paper it’s written on and we shouldn’t be doing deals with pugnacious bullies especially if it jeopardises trade elsewhere
Trump: "The UK is way out of line and we'll see. The UK, but European Union is really out of line. UK is out of line but I'm sure that one, I think that one can be worked out. But the European Union, it's an atrocity what they've done."

I seem to remember this, I think on the day The Simpsons made their debut on BBC 1 we went out bowling for my Sisters birthday and either missed it or video recorded, had only watched the Simpsons at my grandparents house prior to that as they were the only people we knew who had Sky
This Saturday #onthiday back in 1996, The Simpsons was first broadcast on BBC One. However it was 8 season behide Sky one broadcasts, and just didn't fit the slot, it was quickly moved to BBC 2 in spring 1997.

Oh god, please not a monetisation plan for creators, monetisation is one of the many things that RUINED the other place, it encouraged and rewarded uncreative, clickbaity posts and general dreck
Bluesky will be launching a subscription service by the end of the year. There are no details yet on how many tiers. Premium tiers will likely include higher-resolution pics, more/longer video uploads, and profile/page customization aesthetics. Longer term, there's a monetization plan for creators.
