Yesterday, 2 lovely people came 2 my job with a bouquet of about 3 dozen red roses and asked if we sold sharpies. We're out, so they asked if they could borrow mine while they sat in the café in the back. Of course. They bought a few pens and left. An hour later, they came back and gave me this:

USA Today on the great Sweet Pickle Books going viral. A little missing perspective: this part of the Jewish Lower East Side was once the "pickle district". You can see this in the movie Crossing Delancey, where the love interest is a pickle merchant. A few places keep the tradition alive.

Sweet Pickle Books, located in the Lower East Side, has been making pickles since it opened in 2020.

Four women were courageous enough to be on that case, including two teenagers --Claudette Colvin & Mary Louise Smith, along with Aurelia Browder & Susie McDonald. That case went to the Supreme Court and led to the desegregation of Montgomery's buses Dec. 21, 1956. Rest in power, Claudette Colvin.

[November 18th, 1985] In the Season 17 premiere of Sesame Street, Episode 2096, the adults on Sesame Street finally meet Mr. Snuffleupagus and realize he is real, not imaginary.

Elmo is also introduced as a new character.
