Jeffrey Goldberg thinking he was being pranked and then realizing he was actually just in the war plans group chat is such a good microcosm of how it feels to be alive right now, everything seems fake until you realize it’s actually real and incredibly stupid

they're just mad they haven't figured out how to boycott without still giving the companies money (hint: if you buy a product just to burn it, they still have your money)

do you know we all have the internet to know you were part of the caucus that held everything up (until they predictably turned on you)?
State Sen. Mary Elizabeth Coleman, an Arnold Republican, said this is the first time in her two years in the Senate where cooperation, instead of confrontation, is the major theme.

“People don’t hate each other,” she said. #moleg #mogov

we have to remember this thing I just made up
Sen. Bernie Moreno: "We have to remember that if Kamala Harris had won on November 5, the stock market would be down 50 percent ... this country would be on a path to ruin. What President Trump inherited is a disaster from Biden."

Beautiful statement of why protesting matters, even if it feels like you aren't making much headway. You're not just speaking to power. You're speaking to others and making it possible for them to join in.
That’s exactly it. People tend to look around to gauge how they should react to an event, like how whenever a fire alarm goes off people look to see if it’s a drill. Protesting tells people “this is an emergency, and you’re not alone if you want to fight.”

Today, we at Google have a new product: what if you could could ask an app a question? Oh, we do that already? Well, what if we were a little bit worse at it? What if we also sometimes gave you egregiously wrong information? And what if it cost a billion dollars? Still not interested? It's mandatory

I once had to tell a (condescending) 23 year old coworker ranting about “the swamp” that we were, in fact, part of the swamp. As staff in an elected statewide office.
BASH: I remember a time when Republicans were very careful about the government having access to personal data

NOEM: Well, we can't trust the government anymore

BASH: You are the government

Sometimes I falter to the gaslighting and am like “maybe we HAVE just been sold a bucket of hysterical bullshit” and then I see things like this AI photo and people saying “he’s not taking a dime” and all the praising comments then I’m like oh unfortunately the bucket is accurate

I know there are one million scary headlines a day but I truly don’t think enough time has been spent discussing how dumb the name DOGE is and how ridiculous it is to see people casually throwing it around in comments like a government agency

i have beef with all these people, honestly
Pelosi on the hard feelings the Bidens have for her: "We're all on a mission for the American people..I think it would've been important for the children to not have Donald Trump be POTUS. I would take every step necessary to make sure that didn't happen. But it did. And now we have to deal with it"
