I went to an "ojos" training tonight hosted by New Orleans DSA and Union Migrante and thought I'd pass on new things I learned:
1. Low/old info ICE sighting posts are wreaking havoc on immigrant communities. Basically, incomplete or old info is actively harmful (even if ppl have good intentions)

I have this problem where whenever I hear Olivia Dean’s “Man I Need,” it sounds exactly like “Cherish” by Madonna. So then “Cherish” gets stuck in my brain until I listen to it, and Spotify goes “remember how Madonna has two decades of bangers?” And now I’m listening to Madonna all afternoon.

Of all the potential Trump heirs, RFK Jr worries me the most, because he’s already tapped into the “wellness” cult that thinks vaccines and food coloring are killing us. That ability to make people deny reality is the scariest thing. He needs to be forced out immediately.

Retro gaming content here on BlueSky is funny to me because so many people want to “relive their childhood.” I got an NES as a “sorry for the divorce and my new boyfriend” gift. I play retro games because they’re simple and available, not because I want to relive when other kids threw rocks at me.

I’m playing Yoshi’s Island and I do not like it. There’s a lot of traps that you just can’t see until you hit them, along with a weird collect-a-thon focus. It’s one of two mainline Mario games I haven’t finished, so I’m powering through. But my backlog is calling me.

People will freak out about other humans existing in the Metroid universe more than the galaxy’s deadliest bounty hunter using a gun primarily to punch for two whole games.
Finding out Metroid Prime 4 has a bumbling, comic relief sidekick that looks like this. It has maybe never been more over.
