"how did you get into ttrpgs”

I found a cursed box on the top shelf of a cursed hobby store...
"how did you get into ttrpgs”

I have always loved the monsters
"how did you get into ttrpgs"

Oh, I was bitten by a radioactive ttrpg when I was younger.

This was a great experience. I don't know if "fun" is the right word for it, but you get out of the game what you put in, and there's room to put a lot in. Highly recommended.
REALLY great experience. Go buy the game. Right up with Alice is Missing. High praise from me.
Tonight, I and @bschoner.bsky.social play brothers in the zombie apocalypse. We are on opposite sides of a closed door. One of us is infected. I've been wanting to get this game by @moreblueberries.bsky.social to the channel. Their digital play PDFs make it easy. Watch live or later. #ttrpg

I for one am ready to go back to Doskvol!
Come visit Doskvol, the jewel of Akoros, in '68. Home of the original bluetime (first and best). Crime rates are better than before*

Just came across this in a @robwords.bsky.social video on the history of the NATO phonetic alphabet (shut up, I'm a nerd), and it may be my favorite new milspeak for "STFU": "You are therefore requested to reconsider the desirability of pressing your point at this time."

This is a great interview! I have no idea what I expected from the creator(s, as it turned out) of Oglaf, but they seem just about exactly right. (For those who aren't familiar with it, the Oglaf webcomic is very very NSFW, but the interview is pretty clean.)
A rare interview with the creators of the always-funny, always-brilliant, and *usually*-sexy—or occasionally anti-sexy—OGLAF!

Cooper has kept a low profile over the years, but is legitimately one of the very best artists in comics today. Read OGLAF if you're old enough to drive!
Talking Oglaf with Trudy Cooper and Doug Bayne: 'We'd stay up all night drawing stuff to make each other laugh' - The Comics Journal
Other than some time off every year for Christmas, Trudy Cooper and Doug Bayne have delivered a new Oglaf comic, skewering fantasy tropes with absolutely not safe for work humor, every week since 2008...

How is it even conceivable that @ossoff.bsky.social and other Democratic senators are considering surrendering on a Republican-caused government shutdown after the most successful Democratic elections in decades? This would be a staggering betrayal of what the Democratic Party should stand for.

This would make a great Parsely game…
There were quite a lot of text adventures in the 80s. Some were fantasy. Some were mystery. Some were horror. Some were science fiction. But others, well... (Source.)

Is this where I say that I want to watch all of these shows? (Except maybe Sprout Quest, but that's a me problem.)
In lieu of yet another objectively correct opinion on the "Rule of Cool," I present you a thread of the kind of tv show each of my games would be if I was given the budget to make tv shows instead of ttrpgs.

I run games like a writers' room, I write them to help you run them like tv shows. 1/14

We conclude - for now - our discussion on video games that have been turned into board games. Plus, we uncover the solution to a mystery that has been haunting us for far too long! (A month. It's been a month.)

Looking at the site, there doesn't seem to be any information on exactly how/where to apply - or I have failed yet another Spot check. Maybe @thirdfloorwars.bsky.social or @amiewebster.bsky.social will have better luck...
Just getting home from work, huh? Or waking up from that really great post-lunch nap? What a perfect time to make sure you or your favorite show have submitted for the actual play grants!

The deadline is roughly seven hours away -- make some time after dinner to make sure you get it in!

Craig is really good at this - I'd be in one of the open seats if I was available!
I am running Liminal Horror and Cthulhu Dark on November 9th and 23rd. It will be streamed with an amazing table. I have a seat open for each. Feel like having too much fun playing an RPG? Shoot me a PM.

This is a fascinating interview about a wonderful game. It's deep, and some might find it a little full of itself, but I'm so glad that a game that can generate this kind of discussion exists. Go play Slay the Princess, if you haven't.
Just read through this massive interview about Slay the Princess and got floored multiple times through the whole thing. By god. int-magazine.com/interview/sl...
