We’re not dealing with brilliant strategists cleverly laying traps, we’re dealing with impulsive whiners whose advantage is contempt for laws, norms, and morality.

They’re not pulling some elaborate trick, they’re just willing—even eager—to do things regular, principled people consider off limits.

We need MORE reporters like Taylor!

The golden age of investigative journalism came as the media moguls who created "yellow journalism" ruled the ecosystem

It was muckrakers who helped end the Gilded Age & institute food safety, report & track lynchings media ignored, abolish child labor & more!
dbrauer.net
Some people might say, “Taylor opposes Frey, why should we trust her reporting?” and as an alt-weekly vet who used to beat the Strib on this stuff I respond, “look at her facts; it’s basic shoe-leather reporting. It’s easy as shit for “objective’ mainstream media to do. They just don’t do it.”

Cop injuries arent listed, making me assume they are boo-boos at the worst

the most repulsive bullshit of all is Mayor Wu using the same tired "outside agitators" line

No one arrested is over 30, most are 19-23. They spent HS in lockdown then watched a genocide. Wu just throwing them under the bus

If Democrats want to stop fascism, they have to stop their cops from beating & arresting anti-fascism protesters in their own cities

Why is that a thing I have to say out loud
13 arrested, 4 police officers injured during pro-Palestinian protest in Boston
Thirteen people were arrested, and four police officers were injured during a pro-Palestinian rally in Boston Tuesday night.

the age of societal domination by mediocre white men was drawing to a close. nature was healing. and thus the most mediocre of all staged a hostile takeover of our government by economic force so that they could institute counterrevolution and maintain their control in perpetuity.

I keep harping on this point bc either 1) this system has been designed to produce fascist outcomes when the interests of the propertied & powerful are threatened or 2) it has been designed with such incompetence that it has consistently produced those outcomes accidentally.
appiah.bsky.social
Far, far, far too many still operate under the notion that the Second Trump Administration is some sort of profound aberration. That’s far from the case. This thread by @wihorne.bsky.social is vital for us to understand the reality in which we are inhabiting.

We really need to be thinking abt the current regime through the lens of the Second Klan, which helped to nationalize systems of Jim Crow state & vigilante violence & exploitation while creating an explicitly white nationalist immigration system. They even paraded down Pennsylvania Ave.

very cool that if you are working on behalf of right-wing culture warriors, you no longer need standing to have your claim adjudicated by the supreme court

It's not just that they're going to strike down a law against conversion therapy, it's that they're going to do it on behalf of made-up claims from a straw plaintiff who can't honestly show the law affected her at all
tomscocca.bsky.social
One thing about American's widespread distrust and disapproval of the Supreme Court is that mainstream news coverage mostly doesn't dwell on stuff like standing, so people don't even begin to grasp how rigged the Court truly is www.nytimes.com/live/2025/10...

After Reconstruction, the media refused to believe that white supremacists were massacring entire towns of Black people attempting to claim local sovereignty over their own lives. It is not true that violence, even when it's "plain as day," necessarily moves public opinion.
The white- run news transformed this event from a coup that overthrew an elected Republican government into a horror story of armed Black men, turning the massacre into a legitimate act of white self- defense. The Shreveport Times described the event as “the most deplorable and bloody affray ever perpetuated.” Years after the event, white Democrats would periodically fearmonger about a Black militia that would return to overthrow the government, blaming power- hungry Republicans.

What’s truly insane here:

I gave the FBI some of these images in 2020 when they were investigating a Terrorgram-related hit put out on me, and I had to explain what all this shit meant.

5 years later, and DHS is spreading that same goddamn fascist propaganda.

Please amplify, those with a bigger platform than me.

It’s horrifying that the person running the US Homeland Security Twitter uses — and clearly knows — the exact same aesthetics, memes, and propaganda from fashwave, accelerationist, and Nazi Telegram.

It says everything about where we are.

If you didn't know, the Skytops were observation cars built by the Milwaukee Road and Pullman Standard in the late 1940s. 4 were parlour-lounges, while 6 were sleeper-lounges. The key spotting feature is the extra row of windows in the solarium that the sleepers had but parlours didn't.

Thank you @elliottpayne.org and @doronclark.bsky.social for showing our neighbors that this hate has no place in Minneapolis.

"not running in alignment with the mayor" is a big old lie. Millard's current campaign manager's previous role: strategist for one of several Frey-aligned PACs, where he worked alongside Frey's former campaign manager.
