To be brutally honest: Davey and Polanski making so much noise about how bad X is but continuing to tweet and ultimately (apparently) being beaten to a boycott by Starmer makes them both look extremely unserious
It has now been 5 days since Keir Starmer posted on X. 11 for Rachel Reeves

Previously both we're posting several times a day - seems a informal boycott is happening

Meanwhile @zackpolanski.bsky.social has posted/retweeted 7 times this morning. @eddavey.libdems.org.uk too

When you leaving chaps?
Also striking that Rachel Reeves has been off of it since 2 January.

"London’s homicide rate is lower than New York, Berlin, Brussels, Milan, Toronto and Paris, five times lower than the rate in LA, and almost 12 times lower than the rate in Chicago. "

Do not believe the lies of those peddling misinformation for their own political gain.

Sorry, Trump and Farage – London is no lawless ‘warzone’. Violent crime is lower than ever | Sadiq Khan
Reform’s new candidate for mayor claims people pity Londoners for living in an unsafe capital. But the evidence is clear: we’re making our streets safer, says mayor of London Sadiq Khan

In the spirit of brotherly love, could I gently enquire why the almighty **** are government departments, government ministers and Labour MPs *STILL* using X?

X is literally making child porn as a service so there really shouldn't be a question to whether or not MPs leave. Bellingcat has.
EXCLUSIVE: Leaked WhatsApp messages show Labour MPs urging govt to leave X, arguing that it should "show direction to others in the UK"

The MPs said X owner Elon Musk is "fascist" and that the platform's AI tool, Grok, had put "children in harm's way"

The US government is now freely killing people at sea, in other lands, and on its own streets.

It is difficult to see what more is needed for Congress and the Supreme Court to exercise their constitutional duty to check and balance what is now a rogue state abroad and a gangster state at home.

Look I understand that diplomacy is hard as hell in the Trump era and that post Brexit Britain is isolated and weakened - but the very least we might expect from the 6th largest economy on Earth is that it might have the guts to stick up for it's neighbours and allie.

Millions spent on Trump visit. Red carpets, Royals in coronets and golden dining services too. And all he offers in return are petulant racist insults about our capital city and our mayor.

What a singular lack of decorum, grace, and courtesy. Fuck him and his damp hands and his nicotine yellow wig

Too few in Europe appreciate _why_ Vance came to Europe and openly supported neo-Nazism, _why_ he came to Europe and attacked it and gave Russia a pass. It's the same reason Trump sent Hegseth to Europe to do the same thing.

They want to wrong-foot the EU so the EU lets them be (dis)honest brokers.

I love how Trump, Vance and Musk style themselves defenders of free speech, while simultaneously banning government agencies from mentioning climate change or diversity (inc biodiversity!), equity and inclusion, or even possessing maps which show the Gulf of Mexico.
Torquemadas the lot of them.

Most of Britain won't be taking any lessons in British values from Trump/Vance

It is a British value to oppose dictators in Europe, not to reward them.

It is a British value to accept it if you lose. To turn up & congratulate the winner, not to sulk + incite violence to try to overturn democracy

Sold on a pack of lies by fantasists, ladybird libertarians, chancers, xenophobes and spivs.

On this day of all days we should take a moment to remind everyone of that.
