This is a long one - but a lot of important tips and history. If you read nothing else, remember:

"Empire can handle outrage. It has no defense against empathy at scale." - Jackie Summers
If you choose to go out, you need more than vibes. You need a plan. This is about maximizing safety and impact. Not about looking brave on Instagram.

If you’re going out, your first job is coming home.

this is really well-written and informative tech crit - the best piece i have read on gas town and the future of agent orchestration and distance from code
I have Gas Town derangement syndrome and spent the last few weeks writing thousands of words on agent orchestration patterns; how they shift our bottlenecks and force us to ask whether and when we should stop looking at code

Hey folks Calvary Food Shelf has been helping out people in Minneapolis for 30 years, and now they’re ramping up to meet the crisis, including doing home deliveries so people don’t have to risk going out.

They’re just over halfway to their current goal—let’s get them all the way, shall we?

my petty narrow-minded take: the product team clearly doesn’t listen to enough musical theatre or they wouldn’t have forced this on my default for *everyone*

increase funding for the arts; dammit
new iOS update is sleek and also defaults in Music to “you must want songs transition as they would on a dance floor.” so many people will wonder why they can’t just listen to an album. Apps > Music > Song Transitions > toggle off.

I feel very fortunate to live in a world where Lauren Gunderson is a prolific playwright and my local theatres regularly produce her work. The Pear’s Ada and the Machine is fantastic.

We literally do disagree about this, though. Some politicians want to take food from children and some politicians don't. Pretending this "isn't political" just allows the child-starving ghouls to get away with it.

Tell people who supports the *political program* to feed children and who doesn't!

CHOTINER: Were you responsible for the murder of over five million Bajorans on your watch?
DUKAT: No. I tried to save lives during my administration.
C: Now let me get this straight. You're not responsible for what happened during the occupation, the Bajorans are.
D: Yes, yes, exactly.

In honor of National Black Cat Day, here is Oliver.

Likes: Eating produce, staring out of windows, playing with feathers.

Dislikes: sudden movements, unexpected noises, getting petted in unapproved locations.

Truly there is no cat less scary.

Exactly, the Dems' "condescension problem" is almost entirely a creation of right-wing media.
Honestly think the only way to solve the condescension problem is to stop insisting that we have one. It's very obvious why your opponent would call you condescending for being smart and right; stand up for yourself!
Klein is also obsessed with solving Democrats’ “condescension problem” but it’s not condescending to talk about how your political opponents are wrong! That’s kind of how it works.
