After our picture description, l have written a poem for this scene. Our picture shows a wide, open countryside scene dominated by a vast field of flowering crops of rapeseed stretching from the foreground all the way to the horizon. The flowers are densely packed and vivid golden-yellow, creating a rich, textured carpet that fills the lower half of the image. Individual stems and blossoms are visible in the foreground, giving a sense of depth and softness, while the field becomes smoother and more uniform as it recedes into the distance. Beyond the field, a thin, dark line of hedgerow and fencing marks the horizon. Two trees stand apart from each other: one near the center with bare or sparsely leafed branches, and another to the right with a fuller shape. They appear silhouetted against the sky. Faint power poles and wires run horizontally, adding subtle signs of human presence. The sky occupies the upper half of the image and feels dramatic and heavy. Dark grey and charcoal clouds stretch across it in layered bands, with lighter streaks suggesting filtered sunlight breaking through. The contrast between the glowing yellow field below and the brooding, stormy sky above creates a mood that is both striking and contemplative, as if calm and tension coexist in the same moment. Finally, our picture is finished with a simple white border frame. And now for the poem.. I call it…“Beneath a sky” Beneath a sky of brooding grey, The golden field dares still to shine, A thousand flowers hold the day Against the darkening, threaded line. Clouds roll low with quiet threat, Yet roots stay warm in borrowed light, The earth remembers, won’t forget, How hope can bloom in shadowed sight. Between the storm and shining land, A silent promise softly grows: That life, though held in nature’s hand, Still lifts its face and brightly glows.
