Day 9 of Lois asking Steve Reed to join her at the football. ⚽

Something stinks about Thames Water's sewage plant upgrade costs. How can it be 15x more expensive than building a new one in other countries?

Perhaps Environment Secretary Steve Reed can tell her?

University of Greenwich research shows how taking back control of our water delivers a better deal for the public.

Given that the Trump people did nothing to induce Russia to end the war, it’s fair to conclude that the whole idea of pursuing peace was just a pretext to renew relations with Russia.

Trump’s attempts to denigrate Zelenskyy have led to a surge in Ukrainian unity
After their initial shock at Trump’s false claims that Ukraine is led by a “dictator” who started the war with Russia, the Ukrainian people are rallying around their President.

There was a campaign started after the 2016 Vote which sought to maintain EU citizenship status for those of us who didn't want to lose ours, and it's still going ...

Will you support the campaign too?

Not appreciating the #r4today chuckling tone about Trump. A ‘What is he like?’ feel to it. When what he’s like is a convicted felon who’s pardoned insurrectionists, plans to leave the WHO and the Paris Climate Accord and is threatening mass deportations.
Nothing remotely amusing about any of that.

Trump wants to cut the corporate tax rate to 15%. This would give...

-The 5 largest banks a $4.1B tax cut
-The 5 largest drug makers a $3.1B tax cut
-The 5 largest US oil companies a $2.5B tax cut
-The 5 largest grocery stores a $1.7B tax cut

Some populist, huh?

Trump's treasury nominee Scott Bessent, who is worth ~$500 million, warned of "economic calamity" if Trump's tax cuts for the rich are not extended.

But when asked if we should raise the federal minimum wage above the current paltry $7.25/hr, he said no.

Economic populism.

Scott Bessent summarized the incoming administration’s perspective perfectly: Yes to tax breaks for the wealthy, no to increasing the minimum wage.
