I've been crying off and on all day today. Proper big fat tears crying. Had a sleep and still. Took meds, in case it was withdrawal, and still. WTH is this? Is this perimenopause? Lunar eclipse? Normal reaction to the world right now?

Ach I thought I might be able to apply for creative Scotland funding for my writing but unless I'm doing poetry, fiction or screen writing it doesn't look like it 😞

Spent the morning shoveling snow with my kid. We talked about how--because the world is increasingly stupid, unkind, and selfish--we need to work hard at being curious, kind, and helpful to others. Even if we're just starting with shoveling the walk for our community.

When we say “make weird art” we mean don’t pull punches, be vulnerable, be brave. Make the art you’re terrified to show other people, make art without regard for what’s popular or acceptable. Make something messy and human and singular to you. Or don’t! It’s said for those who need to hear it
