Trans people have always existed, and we will continue to do so. We will take up our damn space, as is our right, and no one is going to take that away. Especially not an administration full of fascists and bigots.

Oh man, such complicated feelings... this makes the USA so much more vulnerable... but also undermines Empire... but also reveals Empire's approach of only worst tactics in armamentarium. Dark times, folks. DARK TIMES.

Here is the deal:

My hope doesn't rest upon the electeds.

(although the old guard are especially disappointing as all hell)

My hope lies in all of us.

I'm seeing so many people do what they can,
allowing many in direct harms way to rest

We are our own hope.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

The price of eggs in the US is spiking, mostly due to #H5N1 bird flu. Solving the problem requires urgent, important communications from the CDC & FDA* and rapid development of research by the NIH**

* Currently paused by Executive Order

I was interviewed by @msjpauly.bsky.social for @motherjones.com regarding that awful gamete size "sex" executive order. A bit of an explainer here of why the science is so bad, and why that's dangerous:
Trump’s definitions of "male" and "female" are nonsense science with staggering ramifications
"How can you so fully misunderstand basic human biology, and then legislate about it?"

She shared this with me privately shortly after the tour, and I'm grateful she made her thoughts public.
