I've logged over a hundred dives in California and I've never seen a sunflower star. I was certified in 2015.
Absolutely beyond pumped to see this macroinvertebrate predator take the reefs back.
Captive bred sunflower stars (Pycnopodia helianthoides) successfully released into Monterey Bay for the first time! This species has been more or less extirpated south of Washington since the 2014 outbreak of sea star wasting disease.🧪🦑
Sunflower star recovery project in California hits major milestone
Their return could help reverse a decade of kelp forest die-offs along the coast.

Computer guy here. You have to secure the computerized voting machines first, and that is nye impossible. 22 years of computerized voting has led to a congress and SCOTUS fundamentally at odds with the American people.

The thing Sacks is mad about is a potential wealth tax which only impacts those with assets over $1 billion. That will impact very few actual people in Silicon Valley.

FWIW I have some issues with the actual proposal, but the idea that it means Silicon Valley "is for dinner" is nonsense.
Thinking about the time Sacks and his buddies started a run on their own bank and had to be bailed out.
David Sacks, presumably, on the push by some in the tech and VC world to fund a primary challenge to Congressman Khanna.

This is false. Deportations reduce housing demand, but they shrink housing supply even more as the construction sector loses workers. Trump's deportations will make housing less affordable.

There’s a lesson here about writing in the age of weaponized lies: Always precede false claims with giant red text, ideally wrapped in a <blink> tag, that says “THIS IS A LIE I AM REFUTING!!”

But also, why is a book that makes this kind of lazy, bad-faith argumentation getting any accolades at all?

We don’t spend enough time discussing how the entire MAGA movement is kept afloat by the constant threats of stochastic terrorism orchestrated by the president of the United States.

We could walk things back to the early 1980s "Iran Contra" scandal that vanishingly few Reagan Administration figures were prosecuted for -> they cut a deal with Iran (at the time designated by the U.S. as a terrorist state) to pull a dirty trick to throw the 1980 presidential election to Reagan...

It's always been a plausible theory, and he consistently projects accusations when the truth is about him. Corrupt family? ✅. This stuff, ✅. Hacking elections? Likely ✅
If any of this is accurate

Qanon will come to be seen as one of the most prolific propaganda campaigns in history not for the reasons we already know but because it would correctly be contextualized as using conspiracy theory to inoculate their base to the grotesque brutality they had engaged in.

Having encountered little resistance here in the U.S., the Trump regime is now weaponizing the “censorship” narrative globally, for example by rescinding travel visas for people at organizations combating hate speech in Europe.

From 2022-2024, the right trolled, threatened, ran hit pieces on partisan media, filed lawsuits, & launched congressional investigations against researchers as they spun a conspiracy theory about a “censorship industrial complex”. Now they are weaponizing that narrative w/ the power of the U.S. gov.

Question: If Trump ordered an "investigation" into Bill Clinton, but DOJ is claiming they're holding back some of the documents because of open investigations, then why did they release Bill Clinton stuff?

It's important to note for the consultant people: Kat is tied for first place, she's raised more money in this race than anyone else, and she hasn't used Twitter in months.

It's a website filled with racist AI snuff films and it's rigged against you specifically. There's no good reason to use it.
This has always been a Bluesky-first campaign. But as of today, we will no longer be using Twitter. At all.

And I'm calling on other candidates to follow suit.

Earlier this year Republicans passed a bill that stripped health care from millions of Americans.

That was a monstrous bill; today they are trying to pass a cowardly bill.

I spoke against their flimsy "health care" bill that fails to prevent skyrocketing health costs.
