U.S. Southern Command has just uploaded footage of them killing another person they allege was a “narco-terrorist” without providing evidence.

The U.S. has killed more than 100 people in air strikes like this.

People are rightly disgusted by this speech, but it’s a measure of fascism’s normalization that many see this as more of the awful same rather than what I think most of us who’ve been reporting this beat hear it as: a significant calculated escalation. Full alert stuff.

If it’s going to air later with just some extra interviews why is it necessary to take down all the promos? (rhetorical question)
It looks like it's been scrubbed from every official 60 Minutes page now.

It's only a 30-second promo but here it is if you didn't get a chance to see it.

The first official confirmation that Noem herself made the decision not to turn the planes around. A couple hundred men were tortured as a result — and soon after, the Supreme Court confirmed that the Trump admin’s Alien Enemies Act process was a total violation of due process.
BREAKING:

“After receiving that legal advice, Secretary Noem directed that the AEA detainees who had been removed from the United States before the Court’s order could be transferred to the custody of El Salvador. “

I do wonder if this is it. WTF is Donald Trump doing w Venezuela? Like we've had US presidents do crazy things. I mean we invaded Iraq and toppled its government more or less for no reason. But as someone who covered that story very closely they DID have reasons. They were bad ...

I think Trump thinks that if he deposes Maduro one way or another, he can remove sanctions, reduce energy prices, and (thus) many other prices relative to baseline, and that makes this huge, psychotic deployment and series of murders worth it in his mind.

This new policy from NIH is concerning.

It looks like a way to weaponize administrative burden, one of Russell Vought's favorite moves to break gov't.

Background: Program staff / NIH institute directors can move grants around outside peer review order. 1/
This is concerning.

NIH is changing their policy so that staff have to prepare justification for every application that is funded BUT NO DOCUMENTATION FOR APPLICATIONS THAT ARE SKIPPED (BASED ON PERCENTILES).

Appealing the dismissal instead of re-indicting is a way to kick the can down the road and avoid a lot of short-term humiliation over the other flaws in the case.

Why is it so hard for this man to admit that he got it colossally wrong by putting partisan politics ahead of science, medicine and the health and safety of the people of this country?

Politicians would earn so much more respect if more would openly admit when they get things disastrously wrong.
