In a hilarious turn of events, i have been gifted 167 origami frogs from my students that ive hung from the ceiling rafters in my room.
My school is also using my room for state testing for the next two weeks lol
(no im not taking them down!!)

This is an unconfirmed statement but has been true for me in my classroom as a teacher of mostly 12-14 year olds (and some juniors)
Kids have been using wayyy more racialized language since the inauguration and unfortunately i dont have more to add than … thats concerning but makes sense 😬

They’re saying Elon’s not smart enough to build a submarine capable of visiting the wreckage site of the Titanic. They’re saying he doesn’t have enough money or gumption to do it. They’re saying he’s too much of a loser that he couldn’t even find four to five friends to bring along with him.

Like im sorry but im so fed up of seeing people only using leftism as a marker of moral superiority.
Part of the ideology is that NO ONE needs to suffer at the hands of the state. And that includes poor republicans.
The ‘i hope you get what you voted for’ of it all is going to kill us all i fear

Upon reflection, the most valuable skill ive ever learned is how to have critical conversations with children in a way that doesnt make them feel shame
My honest first thought when elon did *that* was ‘how do I interact when students start copying?’
Happened today and. im glad i thought it through.
Kid asked the reasonable question “why did elon do it if its a nazi thing? I thought grown ups were supposed to know better?”
Yeah… heartbreaking.

I know this sounds really unreasonable, but maybe congress could pass a real data privacy law and then it would be safe to use apps even if their owners were maybe a little malicious.
