mfw watching "people over profits" become the slogan of people who want to help Nazis create the new cyber-panopticon where you have to surrender identification in order to use the internet at all while labouring under the delusion that this will somehow screw Big Tech
Children are being exploited and abused because Big Tech consistently prioritizes profits over people.

Enough is enough. Time to sunset Section 230.

"The album thrives on urgency, delivering its message in short, sharp bursts rather than extended compositions. It’s a challenging listen by design; confrontational, intense, and unapologetically political, but it’s also carefully constructed and highly effective at what it sets out to do."
Album Review: Annihilation / Billionaire Death Drive – Muzic.NZ
Displeasure’s second album Annihilation / Billionaire Death Drive, is a confrontational, high-energy collision of industrial punk, electronic aggression, and uncompromising political intent.

Absolutely fuck all the way off with this shit. What a ghoulish thing to say.

Ah yes, that's where a recently unemployed 24-year-old bricklayer, who spent years hanging around Australia's pro-IS network, and his 50-year-old migrant father were radicalised: university anti-genocide protests 🙄

Be fucking serious for a moment.

just a reminder that antisemitism has been a part of Western culture for over a millennia and has a powerful influence on culture, social life, and politics. as with other forms of oppression, like misogyny and racism, open violence is just an explicit expression of more widespread attitudes.

Bro I’m gonna have to stop you there, I am angry about so many things all of the time, I have never in my life been angry about just one thing at a time, my capacity for “things to be angry about” is as wide and as deep as the sea

Whenever anarchism — or any idea more radical than the status quo — gets dismissed as unserious, it's worth remembering the current system runs on things like "we put all the money on a scam machine that tells rich dipshits they're god."

There’s a theme here, between Miller and Vermeule, which is that the authoritarian right has a view of “order” which has nothing to do with actual crime and has everything to do with violently enforcing their preferred cultural hierarchies.

I’m predominantly a guitar player. At age 15, Mick Ronson reshaped the way I play. Can see a throughline from Ronson to Rowland S. Howard to Dave Mitchell of The 3Ds to Wata from Boris in terms of my influences. All focus on frequency, sustain and sonic qualities over formal technique.
Ok bands/artists!
Today’s assignment:

Who are the artists that literally shaped how you do what you do.
Not so much “influences” as who directly impacted how you hold your guitar, what you look for in a lyric you’re writing, your go-to aesthetics.

Tell your story, introduce your style.
