Koger, Masket, and Noel's 2009 article on extended party networks identified a few conservative media outlets as the key nodes in the Republican EPN. Trump and MAGA have amplified that and extended/shifted it to the new media ecosystem of podcasts and influencer sites.

even more than Trump I, Trump II is distinctive in the extent to which it represents a merger b/w the right-wing media and right-wing government; it is a government that lives within the propaganda bubble it sprang from but also makes policy decisions with an eye to content creation for said bubble

Interesting rundown on how RW media influencers drove the administration's Portland actions. Strikes me that we need to remap the GOP extended party network--or more accurately the MAGA EPN. Ppl like Sortor on not really outside actors.

I know invoking Latin terms can be a bit esoteric, and "dementia" is fine and accurate, but I think there's real merit in zeroing in on the relevant legal concept: he is non compos mentis. Not just that he's a batty old man, he is debilitated in a concrete legal sense, fit for conservatorship.

Ruben Gallego on whether Trump is talking to Democrats:

“Look, the President clearly has some kind of dementia, so I think there's a he's probably talking to himself, or think he's talking to a Democrat, but I sincerely doubt that that's actually he's actually physically talking to a Democrat.“

They are not serious people. They are not politicians. They aren't good at whatever they're trying to do. Once again, if they were smart they could've insulated themselves for 30 years.

Today marks the two-year anniversary of the horrific October 7 attack.

As we mourn the 1,218 lives lost that day, let us also keep alive the dream of a lasting peace and a better future for all.

Ceasefire now. Every hostage must come home. And a safer world for everyone.

Mourning those murdered by Hamas isn't incompatible with mourning those murdered by the Israeli state.

Demanding that the hostages return isn't incompatible with naming & demanding an end to genocide.

Naming the power imbalance & impact thereof doesn't desecrate those murdered two years ago today.

What will bring down Trump in the end is the fact he's obsessed with attacking his enemies and completely ignoring the country's actual problems. Inventing fake crises is no substitute for addressing real problems. This administration lives in a reality of its own making. That's dangerous 1/x

The truth is that our neighbors of both parties do NOT support political violence in growing numbers, despite recent faulty reports. It’s really important for people to hear that. It is hearing the false alternative that frightens people and makes them more open to violence.

Spread this widely.
