Vivian Maier's (1926-2009) photographic self-portraits in mirrors, shadows, reflections, suggest her enigmatic persona, a shadowy presence behind her camera which enabled the capture of candid moments of life #WomensArt

There’s a house on our block with a camera that actually talks at you, every time you pass by, to remind you that you’re being recorded, and that family is sitting on the world’s largest archive of my wife’s middle finger, in case anyone is looking for an art project

Loud boys at computers, and me walking toward them to ask them to lower their voices.

Then, I hear the loudest say, "That's just your internalized homophobia, dude. Why does it bother you?" followed by silence followed by "Why does it bother you?"

I spun on my heel and walked away.

Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

Peter Mandelson is telling the truth on one thing: the idea he was bought for a $4k “bursary” or a $75k gift is ridiculous

The real incentive was a post-government payday - one so big he *rejected* a $3–5m-a-year offer

And Epstein enabled that payday

Here’s the evidence. 🧵

To give a sense of how different America is, in 1933 the Nazis felt the need to purge only 6% of judges and prosecutors. The rest conformed to the dictates of the regime. Without the veneer of legality, the Trump administration must accept limits to its power or risk open oppression.
BREAKING: 8 more U.S. Attorneys in MN resign from Trump’s DOJ in protest as backlash grows.
This isn’t normal; isn’t routine reshuffling. It’s a rebellion.
Last month, 6 veteran prosecutors quit in protest. Normal staffing for the MN DOJ’s office is around 50 attorneys. They’re down to just 9.
