when history reflects on how trump managed to so quickly and so thoroughly kneecap democracy, the role of the Roberts Court cannot be overstated. trump's an amoral monster, but his biggest successes were only possible thanks to conservative justices who would bless them

I want to reiterate that countless conservative judges issued universal injunctions against the Biden administration, and the Supreme Court never halted the practice. Now, barely five months into Trump's second term, the court puts an end to these injunctions. A brazen double standard.

Every now and then I just pause and think that … we could have just elected Kamala Harris, and we’d still have an economy that was the strongest in the world; we’d still have an American-led trans-Atlantic order; we’d be assured that our universities would remain the envy of the world; … (1/x)

We need to stop treating SCOTUS like a legitimate institution. Been saying this since Roe fell. Not only will the courts not save us, a majority of SCOTUS justices have abandoned the rule of law to serve Trump and MAGA.

Again, this is how you know the whole DOGE thing is absolute bullshit. We’re apparently on the brink of financial ruin at all times when it comes to Social Security or healthcare or college in this country while simultaneously there’s infinite money when it comes to war.
President Trump announces he'll be requesting a record-breaking $1 trillion Pentagon budget.

"$1 trillion, and nobody's seen anything like it. We have to build our military and we're very cost conscious. But the military is something that we have to build, and we have to be strong"

Pulling the Stefanik nomination is a pretty good rebuttal to “nothing matters.” If the Trump admin weren’t so unpopular they’d have no concerns about that special election.

The provision of the 14th amendment that the Supreme Court unanimously wrote out of the constitution existed for a reason. Its drafters knew what would happen if you allowed insurrectionists back into power.

Women couldn’t have their own credit until 1974. Marital rape became illegal nationwide in 1994.

We are ONE generation into women having a CHANCE at life & it’s proved so intolerable America would rather end itself than allow such a thing to continue.

grind the government to a halt

stop voting for any nominees, object to every unanimous consent, do a rotating talking filibuster on the senate floor going over the transformation of the United States into Elon Musk and Donald Trump’s personal fiefdom

act like what’s happening is happening
Tonight Donald Trump fired dozens of prosecutors at the DC U.S. Attorney's office and agents at the FBI.

Another Friday Night Massacre, as the President removes those loyal to the constitution.

And installs those loyal to him.

As I predicted.. voters views on "the economy" flipped as new administration came in.

Republicans who for years said economy was very/fairly bad... now have MIRACULOUSLY decided the economy is not so bad.
Views flipped right after election, even though underlying economic conditions didn't.

Donald Trump just had the least-watched inauguration in over 50 years.

If held outside, the inauguration would likely have also had the smallest crowd in modern history.

Don’t give Trump and MAGA power that they don’t have.

They may be in charge, but they are not popular, nor are they invincible.
Per Nielsen, Monday's inauguration of Trump drew a 14.1 household rating, making it the lowest-rated inauguration for an incoming president since at least 1969. Biden's swearing-in did a 21.1 HH rating, while Trump 1 did a 20.1.

24.6M watched on TV--also a new low for incoming POTUS

I would caution people to stop relying on the Constitution as written to have any meaning other than what the people Trump put on the Supreme Court says it means.

"He can't do that" is not a useful response to the things he's going to do. The correct response is "Will the Court uphold that?"
Trump cannot abrogate birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment by way of executive order. That’s not how constitutional rights work.
