Portland has been portrayed as "war-ravaged," under siege from Antifa. Right-wing streamers filmed it, Fox News amplified it, Trump is using it to justify a nationwide crackdown. We wanted to see the reality behind the story being told about this city. link.podtrac.com/431686w9

Hero, this is the guy all those Americans with their guns claim they'll be during a mass shooting, but never are. This man actually disarmed the mass shooting terrorist loser while being himself unarmed

The footage of this guy is truly astounding.
Imagine the courage involved.
Singlehandedly disarming a terrorist in the midst of killing spree.
With no weapon.
I'm trying to imagine where my head would be at in such a situation.
Maybe impossible to know until you are actually in the situation.
His name is Ahmed al Ahmed. He’s 42, father of two, and owns a Sydney fruit shop. His relatives say he had no experience handling guns. He was shot twice, not in this video, but is expected to survive.

The anti-Semitic mass shooting in Australia will cause a national conversation and policy change. We know this because the 1996 Port Arthur massacre led to significant restrictions on guns.
The shooting at Brown will do nothing. We know this because it occurred on the anniversary of Sandy Hook.

Be mindful of and gentle with the ways you use Newtown and Sandy Hook today and tomorrow. Those moms, dads, brothers, cousins, and loved ones are here, dealing a hurt most of us can never understand, over and over again.

Listen to them. Amplify their voices.

The horrific tragedy at Brown University is the 389th mass shooting this year and the 230th gun incident on school grounds so far this year.

This is not normal and we don't have to live this way.

Ending DEI practices in college admissions will expose an uncomfortable truth. Women now outperform men academically.

If universities stop trying to gender balance incoming classes but instead admit based on merit, they’ll reject men at higher rates than they do today.
Trump’s attack on DEI may hurt college men, particularly White men
The Trump administration’s ban on diversity, equity and inclusion also targets gender. The ban may impact gender balancing practices that often benefit college men.
